Let me tell you something. The ones spewing hate and cheering for the prolonging of the conflict in the South are really in no better situation than us. Their ancestoral lineages might be in P/land or S/land, but for as long as the South and specially Mogadishu burns, they will remain idle in the West. For as long as Somalia is in shambles, their lives will be no different than if they were from the South. Both P/land and S/land have had 20 years of relative peace, but Mogadishu with all its wars and chaos still looks better than any other city in Somalia. They might laugh today, but they are refugees in foreign lands like the rest of us. The South has always been what kept Somalia together, what kept it running, no amount of newly built buildings or Universities is going to make up for the fact that both regions still remain unrecognized. That most of these kids laughing couldn't last a day in the dusty little villages their clans settle in. We are all fucked, why give them any gratification? Habaar maxaa keenay?
