Shabaab was destroyed outside of the city. They were led by their reer Ugaas Shermaake commander Barre Qooje who gathered most of the Shabaab militias from as far as Jubbada Dhexe. Over a hundred died and the rememnants are right now in GARBAHAAREY. Barre apparently has 1-2,000 men and who have dug military style trenches around the city's valleys and hills. When Shabaab came into the city, Barre's men who already got tips moved out of the city and settled in their trenches. This was why people first reported "Shabaab took over Beled-Xaawo". As soon as Shabaab realized the men were waiting for them, they moved out and Barre used IGAD supplied madaafiic on their defense positions. Then his troops left the trenchs for physical combat following Shabaab's confusion. This is why IGAD was in Dollow two weeks ago. Barre has nothing to do with the TFG, he is being completely supported by IGAD and AU to get to Kismaayo and this time he strategized instead of going to Kismaayo, he is going to present a threat that brings Shabaab outside of all the way in KIsmaayo to him and vanquish them one by one so he gets to Kismaayo as the only force in the land.

The city is not burning and only one of the madaafiic even hit the city where it hit close to Customska that you have to pass to get into Kenya.

Alshabaab lost one of the biggest battles since 2008, i read that they lost important commanders in the battle; it was a vicious counter attack from them and it fell victim to Barre Hiiraales millitary prowess. He did clear at one point which is why there were conflicting reports about him fleeing, but it was a trap digging up trenches right outside the city; Alshabaab fell for it and they were hacked down in large numbers.

This is the force he has been training for the past 2 years, they number in the low thousands.
