lol@union - why should anyone's second language (english in this case) grammar impede his intellect? :shock: Mr. Famamajo ain't no angel either :mrgreen:
His poor English language skills may not impede his intellect (as you cannot impede the nonexistent), but they certainly do prevent him from properly analyzing a text. How dare he try to distort the good Prime Minister's words and accuse him of being a "qabiliste"?
thatz what is all bout huh...i do have ma own POV and i criticize whomever i want ....if u dont like it go fock ur self :lol:

If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen! If you thought you were going to sling mud at the Prime Minister and get away with it, you best think again! :som:

There is nothing wrong to describe how evil the USC and other mafias were during 1990's. if that makes him qabiiliste then let it be, people has to recognize every evil we have seen and how they ended either in grave or disappeared.

According to him we're not noble, whatever that means

He told the truth Ciyaal Warta. He was objective, educated, and his peer reviewers would not have approved his thesis without double checking what he was writing according to their own sources. Do you think this is a "book" in the sense of an independent book that gets published? No, this was a graduate studies University degree from his graduate school in University. I would have to agree with Union and Fah on this.

You are one thing since you are not from US and don't understand the academic rigor here, but the 35 year old cab driver Guhad from San Diego is another. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

You as in Digle and Mirifle or you as in opposing anyone who is Marehan? Source? And if he said sab, don't blame him. You already know what sab means in backward Somali society. :?

didi you even read the essay? I didn't read the whole thing, but I skimp through and I feel like he was critically of Said Barre;
although they were noticable grammar, punctuation and spelling mistakes.

Excerpts from the book
Despite Siad Barre’s poor human rights records and corrupt government, the United States provided him with the economic aid to sustain his government and military aid to protect Somalia from Ethiopia’s hostile Marxist regime.
However, Barre’s gloomy shadow lingered over American integrity. Here was an illegal dictator who neither tolerated political opposition nor so much as attempted to compromise in crafting solutions acceptable in all parties. Rather, he preferred to act as a thug, using force to eliminate any clan-family sympathizing with the opposition. His military forces committed unnecessary atrocities in central Somalia in particular, where they burnt villages, slaughtered thousands of innocent people, and raped women.

We know each other bro, and though we are good friends, reality is reality.

p.s. Read any book or writing about Somalia and that is the perception on the ground. Does that say anything about Farmaajo's educated opinion? Thesis and researched writing is not about opinion. You should know that above all.

p.s.s. I am actually surprised that IRONMAN is among the most critical readers of all. Surprising and good on him. :?

I'm reading the book now, its actually a pretty good analysis in my opinion. He seems fairly balanced, and presents facts, he's not trying to make a point, but trying to explain the situation.
