I thought it was Berbera when I saw the pics earlier, nice place to live. Its strange that Maydh has a dock but Laasqoray and Eyl do not even though they're bigger towns with more fishing activities.

Indeed it is a nice place to live. Maydh had that dock prior to the mid 80's. Where did you think the SNM in Sanaag & Sool territories got their weapons from?

The SNM also maintained a small fleet of armed speed boats that operated from Maydh, fifty kilometers northwest of Erigavo, and Xiis, a little west of Maydh. Small arms included 120mm mortars and various assault rifles, such as AK-47s, M-16s, and G-3s. Bazooka's, Rocket launchers.
