Hopefully with the fiscal contraction in Europe, Somalis might benefit and become more productive
where it says somali americans unemployment rate is only 8%, thats not even possible, lower than white americans? i dont think so waryaaa,
IN UK soomaalis unemployment rate is about 90%, according documentry from british chanel 4, somalis lowest when its comes unemployment rate, somalis and bangaladeshi worst of all immigrants in UK,
the best immigrate most succesfull is INDIANS AND NIGERIANS in UK.

Just the way he put this sentence tells you the level of discrimmination in Australia or Europe. try "their luck with Africans", I mean take a chance to hire Africans? In the American ethos of ''sink or swim'', employers hire and fire with ease, which makes them more willing to try their luck with young Africans.
there is no such thing in America, as long as you have a social security card and I-94, you can get a job anywhere.
Most somalis I know not only work one job, but two jobs. and the bad economy unemployement effected mostly whites, who were working in the Auto industry and other investment/banking sector, not Somalis.

Dont believe anything those people say. 90% kulaha. Most Somalis I know are either Students, self-employed or work in office jobs. Some even work low skilled jobs as factory workers or taxi drivers. The unemployed ones are the lowest in the social ladder, the chewers and shit.DR-YALAXOOW wrote:IN UK soomaalis unemployment rate is about 90%, according documentry from british chanel 4, somalis lowest when its comes unemployment rate, somalis and bangaladeshi worst of all immigrants in UK,

Im the biggest Somali critic, but this propaganda of us need to stop. Its bad enough they are doing it, but its sad when our own people swallow the hype.
For those of you who live in Britain, go to your local Job Centre and see the demographics of the benefit claimers. They are mostly White people. And Asians are second. Despite the bad press of Africans, you hardly see any black person in there. Nevermind Africans. And the Somalis who sign on are mostly islaamo over 40 and young single mothers.
Dont believe these "reports" and "Channel 4 programs".

bogus self employee who also gets benefits welfare is not accounted as productive person in the society, SOMALIS unemployment rate in UK are even more than 90% Somalis live on the system welfare, bogus divorce man and women, man works black market as cap driver and women and children get benefit, thats sick

foraxample NIGERIANS fellow black africans are most successful immigrants in UK , then why is that and Somalis are lowest of the low.

There is nothing dignified about a young healthy male, even for ones confused about their gender such as you, to take welfare.Somalian_Boqor wrote:Being unemployed is actually not bad, I get paid for being unemployed both by my State and Federal Government.

Nah I don't live with parents. I live in a three bedroom apartment with two other roommates, and living in a small college town rent isn't much about $250.

Re: Unemployment rates among Somali communities
Ok I have just read a little of the definition. Where there is more people unemployed then there are jobs, so that if every job was filled there would still be people unemployed.Navy9 wrote:Perfect_Order wrote:I have a job and I'm a Somali, and there are always people hiring. Unemployment is mainly a big problem in rural areas not the big cities.
have you heard of cyclical unemployment and what was the other weird name they use, structural unemployment?
It is true, and I get what your saying. But there is so many factors to the modern economy that I truly feel a lot of people are going to always be left out, it just gets worser than others. I hope we don't go back to a time where labor is a surplus and so employers lower wages because it is so easy to get some else.

Re: Unemployment rates among Somali communities
The article is ridiculously misleading and confusing an apple (Somalis) with an orange (black baboons aka Africans).
Secondly, it's ridiculous to base entirely any judgement on arbitrary figure. Furthermore, so what if people are unemployed? That shouldn't concern anyone since everyone has a choice -to work, be unemployed- and because such choices are not available in the country you live in doesn't mean that you should attack in envy.
I am not a fan of the benefit system and don't take myself and despise it, but it's there for a reason and if people made the choice to live on it, well so be it.
And in theory, what if say the rate of Somali unemployment in America was 8% and 99.99% in the UK,,,what difference would it make or is there because bottom line is that the Somalis in America are not more productive nor advanced than the UK ones.
