bro,i agree with you, this whole dam project was Isreal's brain child, and they afforded the ethiopians with everything to make it happen from the technical expertise,to the political connections to secure the loan.while there is no doubt that the materialization of this project will bring egypt's economy on its knees, arabs are divided over this issue, even though they publicly don't admit it,into two blocks:Coeus wrote:The egyptians are especially mad because the funding for the building of the dam is sponsored by china and Israel. Soon the arabs will see that Ethiopia truly wields power in the horn. This can be catashtrophic for Somalia if we get divided, we will be nothing but mere ethiopian pawns.
1) some arab states, like Saudi Arabia, want the project to materialize under the illusion that a weaker, aid dependent Egypt will afford them to be the next arab power house(typical Arab ency, and short sight)
2)While Egypt and its allies,on the other hand, see this issue for what it is "an israeli incursion of Egypt's food and national security".
and the sooner they realize Ethiopia has been/is pro Israel.they will realize that only a strong Somalia can keep/kept the ethiopians at bay for decades. and this my friend will give Arabs great incentive to have a bigger constructive involvement in the Somali affairs, and increase their aid to us to something close to that of the Palestinian authority.
this might be far fetched scenario,Allahu aclam, but these are my predictions ...
