The success or failure of this recognition is totally irrelavent how in on earth can we form a solid state and be one united people with people who have educated 75% of their population born after 1991 to hate and look down on everything Somalia stands for.

STFU you dumb Baboon.

You can't form a nation with somaliland, it is too F*cking late. We have 2 options:

1. Wipe them out and take their land.
2. Accept 2 states solution.

They have gone beyond the point where their reintegration is feasible or for that matter viable. We don't need them and sure as hell should have some self respect and show that we are better of without them.

so many peanut brains running lose on this forum.

There seems to be a turning tide, albeit slow and gradual. Somaliland has established the pre-conditions for recognition. It has territorial integrity, legitimate government and all the signs and symbols of a modern functioning state. Be that as it may, it will be very difficult for the elusive recognition to happen any time soon. Primary concern should be given to establishing friendly and formal ties with the TFG of the former Somalia Koonfuria. Similarly, any attempt to show willingness to negotiate with the TFG bodes well for our common Somali brotherhood. Its been almost two decades and from the reality on the ground, Somaliland is here to stay. Its impossible to reverse two decades of potent mix of state institutionalism, self-determination and the socialisation of society. There is emphatic nationalism here and each individual Somaliland citizen has personally invested in the development of Somaliland. They have been reward with peace and prosperity and the opportunity to live a life of normalcy. Peace is a powerful commodity and people here seem to be content with the status quo.

Somaliland should continue on its current path; developing organically and free from IMF and World Bank loans. Its an interesting form of development which doesn't conform to the traditional development paradigm. Recognition is inevitably but Somaliland must continue to demonstrate its credentials.

For those who have become obsessed with anti-Somaliland sentiment, its in all our interest to continue to support peace across the Somali peninsula.

[quote="Coeus"]The United States says it will "engage" with Silanyo's government. Britain, Denmark and Sweden are all increasing their bi-lateral ties with Somaliland. The president said Ethiopia is also deepening its relationship with Somaliland, and, he hopes a new railway will link the two countries

who is paying for the railway? this old man is either hallucinating or he is on those ungodly drinks again
