The second Capital city of Somalia cadi ma aha mashallah. Inshallah I shall tour Hargeysa when I take my Summer Puntland trip.
I can already see all the nice hotels where I will be getting excellent iidoor service. My tea, my khat and off course the Women.

Siciid85 change your title to Hargeysa - Before & Now - The amazing Transformation.

Transforming is dull and not the right word to use.

Xamar was beautiful and the most peaceful city in Africa if not the world. Then Hutuking01 came to the city laid claim to it and said Mogadishu belongs to beesha Hutuking and that is the Mogadishu we have today.

Somalis have turned deserts into cities, while Hutuking has turned a Modern city into total ruins.

Voltage. Which is why i corrected you. Hargeysa had 14 years of peace not 20. The wars ended in 1996 that is when everybody once again like 1991 started moving back to hargeysa and investing in their war ruined city.

Voltage wrote:Maashallah, wallahi it is beautiful but I don't understand where you people get the propaganda the government bombed Hargeisa? Read Rukia Omaar's book, the SNM once they were kicked out of Ethiopia in 1988 themselves pretended to be government soldiers and at night attacked Hargeisa and Burco attempting to get the people on their side who until that point were apathetic.

Why did the SNM rebellion start in 1982 but nothing happened to civilians or northern towns until the SNM crossed into Somalia and as documented tried to find cover within the people with the only way to do that being to make a cardinal divided between people's feelings and the government. It is well documented that the SNM themselves attacked northern towns and cities pretending to be the government in their desperation to continue their rebellion in order to get the people on their side and used northern towns and people as human shields. It is also well documented the government took all care and manner to minimize any civilian casualties in their attempt to wipe out the rebellion.

Also, Hargeisa has had 20 years of peace, quiet, and investment and had the distinction of being Somalia's second-largest city with second largest population base since the beginning of Somalia's founding. In light of those factors, Hargeisa could have done a lot better in terms of infrastructure.
