once u get into taxi business it's hard to quit , in where i live most taxi driver are above 35 years of age with no schools except few ,most of them have wifes back in Africa who they married recently , i know i'm stereotyping but i'll say the most , and you're right there are some educated or in school guys who drive taxis, but i did'n see many, maybe the situation is different in other states

It is the same where I live. Majority are Older males. Driving Taxi doesn't require much skill other than deep know-how of the local area and minimum language, that is why most somali males who are new arrivals stick to that profession once they get their license. Working is decent. I don't care what somebody does as long as they earn money through their own sweat, they are dignified. I would do janitorial work if I lost my job and couldn't get anything matching my experience just to stay busy and don't ask relatives for change to get on the bus or fill my car's tank. It feels like giving away my balls and surrendering to be without work.


I used to see married guys who do couple of hours Taxi, park the car, take a class, then drive again till they gratuated. Waa niman rag ah kuwaasoo kale saxib. Shaqo ceeb maleh.

You are wrong, Aids is a danger in Somalia. It spread through immigrants from Ethiopia in the North, and From Kenya into the South. I wouldn't marry a woman without her testing for AIDS PERIOD. I don't care if she has a virgin mouth let alone a virgin Nectar.

Also it is very strange how people who recently came to the West believe that Somali women who lived in the West for a long time are not (fill the blank).

I was so surprised that a somali woman who was a friend of mine said to me 'guurso nin ina-adeerkaa ah and surprise him your (fill tha blank). she has been in the UK for 5 years then.she beleived that all somali women (particularly those who went to higher education to be an experienced certain things).

she said ' ma lagaa yeelaayo gabadh intaas London jogtey ayaa gabadh ah ).

In fact when she told me her romantic stories in East Africa, I was really and honestly shocked


I believe most of somali women in the West are more religious and cultured than those back home
