Kenya's efforts to seize Somali territories were thwarted by the Somali Mujaahideen. We should thank Allah we have people defending Somalia despite the meager resources.

Where are people getting this seize land idea from?

They want to create an autonomous region in Jubaland which can govern itself, Ethiopians are the one against this idea

Ethiopia is against this because they already are getting heat for the Ogaden. It doesnt want to be involved with Somalia. But little Kenya is afraid that Somalia might stand again and seize their eastleigh, since it is governed by Somali bussinesmen who has "pirate money". They also see how ONLF is causing havoc in Ethiopia and they believe they are next somehow.

Saaxib, check Kenya-Somali relations during Siad barre. The damn Kenyans was very suspiciousof us, they were afraid of Somalia and thought NFD would be gone.

Wallahi i hope the Somali goverment starts to secretly fund ONLF OLF in Ethiopia ,and a NFD Liberaion front in Kenya. We will see how these countries will be destroyed from inside, and confirm their fears for Somalia.

Kenya is not that serious about the Jubaland Initiative and saw this only as a back up plan if they could not convince the TFG officials to sign away Somali territorial waters. They are still working on the TFG.........the Lamu port project and the offshore drilling for oil in Southern Somalia/Coastal Kenya is the driving force of this project.
