Let me get this straight, instead of fasting tomorrow for Ashura - one of the most holly days in our calender, you will be spending it taking part in a ritual that was created by a Jew? Something which has no basis in Islam?

Am I the only one who thinks this kid needs a serious talk?

 Mowlids are done at night. and I don't think he mentioned anything about not fasting so jumping to conclusions isn't really helping your case.

I know an unstable kid when I see one. I guess celebrating innovated rituals beats issuing e-fatwas and pledging undying loyalty to Shabaab.

Hakuu macaanaato, adeer.

While you're at it, be sure to celebrate Christmas too.

I find it very strange, He is asking the prophet for help. "Oh Prophet of Allah we beg you, please support/help us"

I witnessed a shirk session at my local mosque about 2 years, a guest speaker from pakistan was praying to his imam in pakistan who past away saying he was the last prophet.

Ok that guy is not muslim.

You need to learn tawheed, as long as you believe with certainty that Allah is the only one who can help you and that this is just a means through which Allah helps you there is nothing wrong. This does not lead to shirk. Then when people are told this they think logically to themselves why don't you just ask Allah directly swt. You can and should. At the same time, we do ask our parents to make dua for us, our teachers, our sheikhs and this is accepted and encouraged. So why not the Rasul. Well then one might say oh but the Rasul is dead what can he do. But that isn't true, the rasul is alive in his grave he hears when people make salawat and salaams on him, he is praying in his grave. There is a hadith that when some one sends salaams and salawat on the rasul an angel comes and delivers him saying so and so greets you etc. but on thursday night and friday he hears it directly, with the help of allah. And if you make salawat and salaam on the nabi then he will ask Allah for you, and which is greater than the dua of the Rasul?

We don't believe that our connection to our Noble Messenger was cut off with his death, he is very much alive to us, and very much still part of our deen.

The Prophet (saw) is not alive in his grave in the sense that he is in our realm. He is alive in al-barzakh and can not hear anyone asking him for favors or prayer:

“but you cannot make hear those who are in graves”

[Faatir 35:22]
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is alive in his grave in the sense of the life of al-barzakh, so he enjoys the blessings that Allaah has prepared for him as a reward for his great good actions that he did in this world. But the life in the grave is not like the life of this world, or the life in the Hereafter. Rather it is the life of al-barzakh which comes in between his life in this world and his life in the Hereafter. Hence we know that he died as other Prophets and other people before him died. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And We granted not to any human being immortality before you (O Muhammad); then if you die, would they live forever?”

[al-Anbiya’ 21:34]

“Whatsoever is on it (the earth) will perish.

And the Face of your Lord full of Majesty and Honour will remain forever”

[al-Rahmaan 55:26,27]

“Verily, you (O Muhammad) will die, and verily, they (too) will die”

[al-Zumar 39:30]

http://islamqa.com/en/ref/21524/prophet%20alive%20grave

Its a weak justification the Sufis use for continuing to pray to a man who has been dead for over 1400 years. Even the Sahaba and specially Abubakar (ra) after the Prophet's death (saw) clearly said the Prophet (saw) was dead, but Allah was still alive and those who worshiped the Prophet (saw) were in trouble, but those who worshiped Allah, Allah never dies.

I'm not sure how good your somali is, but he is not asking the prophet pbuh to make dua for him. Im not talking about sending salam or blessings the prophet pbuh. The guy is praying to the prophet and asking him for something directly. Just like in the way Suufis in Somalia pray to what they call Awliya.

All the Prophets before Muhammad (saw) are also in al-barzakh, yet there has never been any accounts of the Prophet (saw) asking for du'aas from them even though he knew they were still alive in their graves, he even met some of them on his Israa, but did he ever ask for du'aa from any of them when he returned to our realm? No. Neither has there ever been any accounts of any of the companions or the tabi'yuun asking for du'aas from the Prophet (saw) after his death, so why after hundreds of years after his death? The Sufis have little else to offer the masses except for innovations and ignorant rituals that do not benefit the Muslims. Instead of teaching them the basic tawheed, they busy them with heresay and trying to win favors from dead men.
