Pretty much if you take out all the polluted genes from the Arabs and other outsiders, Somalis would look exactly the same.
"E1b1* or E-P2* is likely to have originated in the highlands of East Africa's Ethiopia, as this is the place with the highest frequency of this haplogroup. It is the ancestor of the majority of E subclade lineages existing today. E1b1* has diverged into three subclades: E1b1b (E-M215) approximately 24-27,000 years ago (Cruciani et al. 2004), E1b1a and E1b1c."

Lake Turkana in Southern Ethiopia is the birthplace of all Cushtic speaking populations.
Here is the Dassanech Tribe. Unlike most of their neighbors who speak either Nilotic languages or other Afro-Asiatic tongues, they are CUSHTIC SPEAKERS. If you wanna see how our ancestors used to live before coming into contact with the Arabs or Europeans here is the perfect analog. The tribes of the Omo Valley are largely living the same way they have for the last thousand years.
The video is amazing. They are pastoral nomads. They wear macwisses and eat caancello. Their facial structure is also similar to most Somalis. And their body structure is also almost indistinguishable from the Somali. Pretty much if you take out all the polluted genes from the Arabs and other outsiders, Somalis would look exactly the same.
you cant even pronounce canjeero and you want to teach us about our ancestors..walle waa yaab
excuse me for growing up in America and not learning to write in Somali

Rendille is thought to be the closest language to Somali.

Bogus claims have been spread here. What are your proofs? You are sharing a simple youtube and want us to believe this fiction.
language
culture
facial and skeletal morphology
plus anyways all the linguists point the origin of the Cushtic languages to Southern Ethiopia because it has the most diversity.

good find

I never said these people were the MOST CLOSELY related to the Somali. I just said they are probably a nice analog for what out ancient ancestors were like. The closest to the Somali are the Oromo, Afar, and Rendille.
But all those people are also descended from an even earlier stock.
That stock I am arguing is the same stock as the Omo Valley cUshtic speakers.

I think people are misunderstood this thread. Its not that these people are the most CLOSELY related to the Somali.
Its rather that they are a good analog for the more ANCIENT STOCK of cushtic speakers that the Somali, Rendille, Oromo, Afar, etc. descend from.
Since they have kept their traditional practices pure because of lack of contact with other peoples, I'm simply saying that there is a pretty good chance that the ancient Somali behaved in similar ways because of the common roots.
Cushtic languages are thought to have originated in southern Ethiopia.

Dassanech are probably half Nilotic (they live very close to South Sudan), a completely different race. Even though they don't speak a Nilotic tongue doesn't mean they aren't mixed with them. They are Cushitic-Nilotic mixed.
Somalis are Cushites not Nilotes. Our close cousins are Afar, Rendille, Oromo and the Beja in North Sudan.

Most Darod do not have Arabian paternal line, only some do (less than 5%). You are misinformed.

highly probable
I was mostly focusing on their cultural practices rather than genetics
just like ALL HUMAN BEINGS there is a good chance they are mixed with the people who live around them......just like the Somali, Rendille, Oromo, etc.
so its probably hard to determine what the ORIGINAL CUSHTIC STOCK looked like

no one is denying the likelihood that some Arab man crossed the Red Sea 1000 years ago and procreated with a woman in Somalia
however Somali people existed before his travel and existed afterwards
and the Y chromosome he contributed to the sea that was the pre-existing Somali gene pool doesn't make enough of a difference that you should be cheering about
how about you cheer for the 99.9999999999% of your ancestors that aren't Arab?
or does you inferiority complex limit this thought?
