I don't think millions of people with varying degrees of intelligence & piety will willingly choose to live in misery for two decades now. That's illogical. Hawiye are victims of a perpetual cycle of violence & greed that was orchestrated by a handful of men who preyed on their ignorance and clan allegiance. They have produced some of the brightest & patriotic people known in Somalia, some of the most learned men & women hail from Hawiye clans in the South. Its not enough to cover their history & accomplishments in this thread alone, their history is documented for those intending to seek it. Like most clans in Somalia, they too suffer from ignorance and clan obsessing, that has always been their downfall and they are not alone in it. We are all guilty of it. Stop blinding yourself to what is common sense and if you need to be informed about them, ask and take the time to understand them. I hope you're familiar with Sh. Boqolsoon and what he stood for, he was a Southern Hawiye, so is my current Imaam. Two of the best men I ever had the pleasure of knowing.
