Waryaa, its good to see that you've expanded the horizon of the argument about Somali civilization. We might know less about some areas of Somalia. But still we have chance to do little searches here and there. Besides, I would like to know where you would consider the center and origin of Somali life and their civilization, and which blocks had teaching schools( religion and science) before others? Which villages, towns and cities are comparatively older than another?

In your findings lets know if you don't include taleex, Sagag, zeyla, Diridewa and Harar cities, much of north and western Somalis including Abaadirkii lafa ciise.

Mashallah are you by any chance related to Samaroon? Im not from lafa cisse but I am from Sheedheer, you must have went past it on your way from Tefefer Ber to Lafacise and jigjiga. Its a small farming communiity. If you know history then im sure you know that the region yo u grew up in is very ancient and old from awbarre to amoud there are un-excavated ruins that could be thousands of years old.

waryaa wrote:Your argument would be more valid if you said which region. In this case, you can find most civilized people in large cities like Mogadishu, Hargeisa, etc followed by very old places like Marka, Barawe, etc. and farming communities in the south. Nomads their villages/small towns are the most uncivilized.
Disagree with this. Somalis in Mogadishu, hargeisa, Kismaayo, etc are more ilbax than other nomadic Somalis but the people of Marka, Barawe, Xamarweyne or the CadCad Xamari are the most ilbax cosmopolitan Somalis.

Yeah those areas have good hardworking farmers. I went to Sheeddheer as well by foot once. It was very crowded and booming town as it was hosting thousands of refugees from Somalia who made it their home later. But that was early 90s.

In clan wise I am not related. But most of my teachers were Samaroon.

2- Zaila
3- Mogadishu
4- Barawe
5- Bandar Qasim

We would have more fishermen than pastoral farmers.

lool! It has nothing to do with fishing/farming - do your homework as to why old somali settlements are along the coast :)
