Freedom is worth a celebration. There nothing wrong with being poor. But i must say it's good not to be among the poorest of an entire nation.

This thread and the replies clearly demonstrate why Somalis are doomed. We are unable and unwilling to see matters from a neutral point of view. The collapse and failure of Somalia and the following civil war was a great tragedy for all Somalis in terms of loss of life and status. Likewise the dictatorship and tyranny of siyad barre was a great misfortune for the Somali nation. We have to learn to be unbiased and acknowledge the truth even if goes against our person preference. It is true that Somaliland is a "puppet" of Ethiopia but likewise Somalia was a "whore" to the Russians and then USA. Somalia was as Somaliland is a bitch to greater regional powers. The civil war relieved us of a dictator and as a result the Ethiopians are masters over the Somali people. We need to open our eyes and see matters from all points of view and Insha Allah then we can make informed decisions about our future.
