The U.S. has many Taliban "commanders" under their payroll too, its a strategy to level the playing field and make sure these groups never pose any real threat to them or their friends. They've done it in Nicaragua, Vietnam, Iraq, etc. Doesn't it surprise anyone how incompetent & essentially unmotivated Alshabaab is in creating anything remotely resembling a government? How they seem to always chase their own tail, without ever taking steps to purge the country of AU forces? When was the last time they attacked the airport or sea port? Instead, why are they always ready to fight Sufis in central Somalia? Often times, dying for nothing more than dusty villages? Its to keep the country in status quo and anyone who thinks Alshabaab are free of U.S. meddling is either a moron or blind.

I WONDER WHAT KHATLANDERS THINK OF "AMIIR" GONADS NOW??
Somalis unfortunately always miss the bigger picture, thus why some forumers praise Godane and attribute things to him that are untrue, out of clan loyalty. But, this is beyond Somalis and our petty obsessions - this is a global initiative to rid the world of political Islam, in any and all its forms. This is done in many formats; outright extermination (all the decent Jihadists are long dead), infiltration, assimilation, etc. Nobody gives a fuck about the horn, its beyond that and Alshabaab are nothing more than a miniscule pawn in a chess game. They are a means, they are not the answer. Not to say they are all riddled with CIA spies, but its obvious to anyone with an ounce of intelligence that their leadership are made-men. Religion is the new tool.tightrope wrote:HalfBked wrote:Is it a coincidence that he gained power ONLY after Ceyroow was assasinated?
