The tigre are in galgaduud, baladweyn and baladxaawo. This is a full scale invasion of our country and a blatant aggression by amxaaro.Laakin will the resistance just go away and die.will the jihadists who taught the amxaaro unforgettable lessons during their failed occupation lay down their arms? No,The Ethiopian Factor has an opposite effect,it will give alshabab more excuses to fight and they will also enjoy a lot of credibility and will be seen as a liberating force against the christian invading Ethiopians. The have already started their move towards elbuur.
More recently trained Ahlu Sunna Waljama' fighters joined by Ethiopian military are reported to have been heading towards Elbur district, an Al shabaab stronghold area in central Somalia, reports said Monday.
Reports emanating from the Galgudud region suggested that the Ethiopian forces, who recently reached at former 21st military camp in Dhusamareb district, moved deep towards Al shabaab strongholds areas in central Somalia in an attempt to dislodge them.
More reinforcements from Ethiopian military reached at central Somalia to join other Ethiopians and Ahlu Sunna fighters who are said to be ready to take on Al shabaab fighters in Elbur and Elder districts in Galgudud region.
Military movement and fear reportedly exist in the areas controlled by Al shabaab.
It is another invasion which is doomed to fail.

looks like farmaajo is interested in occupying the Marexaan lands by force. While shariif is interested in occupying the abgaal lands by ugandan ''peacekeepers''.

If anyone doubts shabaab's willingless to fight foreigners, then look no further than how many AMISOM soldiers were killed in their recent offensive.
The shabaab have survived this far because they know which battles to pick and they cannot afford to put all of their eggs in one basket. Defending one town to the last men is a strategy of failure and Hutuking knows it. He is only frustrated at the lack of a decisive victor in this long running war.
To come back to the topic, whether these Ethiopian trained milita progress with their gains will in long part be determined by how far the Ethiopians are willing to help them succeed. In 2009 we saw the same thing happen, with the Doolow militia going as far as Baardheere before being forced to withdraw after the Ethiopians left. The Ethiopians also know the more they bring in their heavy equipment deep into somalia the more they are vulnerable to counter attacks and road side bombs. By vacating towns in the Gedo region, the shabaab are forcing the Ethiopian led milita to decentralize and not have all of their forces concentrated in one City or in one front.
Whether the recent skirmishes will lead to knew developments, only time will tell.

Re: Al Shabaab Vacate Garbahaareey and Ceelwaaq. Luuq falls
In my view Al-Shabaab forces were overstretched and due to the overwhelming force that they are going to face in the upcoming battles, they are re-grouping and want to position their forces in areas where they can supply and reinforces in different battle fields. If you look at the what Ali Dheere stated yesterday it is obvious what they plan in the battles that are coming. He has told Al-Shabaab and their supporters that we need to start the 2007 - 2009 style fighting which is mainly a long geurilla war. What is obvious in this conflict is it is far from over.Talo alle udaa wrote:If anyone doubts shabaab's willingless to fight foreigners, then look no further than how many AMISOM soldiers were killed in their recent offensive.

The biggest problem facing Al-Shabaab is lack of visionary leadership. The whole idea of threatening other countries only gave further ammunition to their enemies. The idea of rejecting Somalia-only oriented program alienated many Somali nationalists who would put their life on the line against Ethiopia had Al-Shabaab's stated goals were Somalia-only project.

Dee waa isku mid labadabo isma dhaaman...the only thing is one group are walords, hogaamiyo kooxeedyo, etc. oo la yaqaano they don't claim the Religion too much. Kooxa kale are claiming Religion 100%. If both of them simply stop tainting the Religion and fight as political factions nobody would say anything.

war ninyahow waayo arag ayaa tahay walaah...alshabab alienated themselves when they rejected somali nationalism and now if ethiopia come nobody is gona cover for them ..most of the pple are opposed to their international agenda and their foreign jihadist ..gorilla war will only work when the public is supporting..now its not gona be like 2007 resistance where the public where supporting them ...they will fight alone..and in south somalia doesnt have mountains that u can hide and attack ..south somalia is not afghanistan sxbudun wrote:In my view Al-Shabaab forces were overstretched and due to the overwhelming force that they are going to face in the upcoming battles, they are re-grouping and want to position their forces in areas where they can supply and reinforces in different battle fields. They don't stand a chance against foreign troops, but the question is what will happen once they leave the country? Uncle osamah has billions to finance Alshabaab, i don't think they will disappear
