Living,

Yes it is difficult, apart from some words and the xaa tiri iyo xoo yiri, I'm not that well versed. In fact sometimes, I'm thinking darn what are they saying. I was bought up in the West.

Iyaah Jowhar iyo Balcad lee ya? Meel kaasto in M.Shabelle waa Xaayow lingo, okay maybe not meel kasto, I don't even know.

Greenday,

Maya, but I know a person with fourth surname as xaayow. I think I've seen adeer Yalax iyo Dhicisow, all nicknames though.

Yaahuu, I don't like most of those names, there is one, but it's not Abgaal perse, other Somalis have it too and I don't know who started it, but its a traditional Somali name, and runs in my family. I'd call my son that. I don't mind Caddow too. Wiilkeey Caadow Boolo, Caanaha laabantisa, Hilibka Caadintisa, Suukorta....blah blah

There was no part of him Small, we also used to call him 'Buun-est' as well, another of his nickname  'Dhicisow was his uncles name, and so he was carrying that,' his uncle was born 8 months therefore he was called 'dhicis'

af xayow is not even reer shabeela, gabdo you got it wrong. there is difference between af xayow and af maymay its big difference darlings. af xayow is mostly spoken in Ceel bur, some parts in Hiiraan and some parts of Galgaduud and Banadir. its so weird, this af they want to start everything with X so you end up saying "Xaadmaha" instead of "Maxaa" like we normal people say  but you gotta love the diversity in Somali dialects.

shabeelaha and some parts of Jubboyinka forget about af xaayow, you wont find many faro dheer or lamo goodle(labo go) you will find alot of afmaymay, some minority languages spoken exclusively by certain tribes, like barwani, tuni, garre etc, but they mostly know how to communicate with each other through the standard Somali.

the most annoying accent to me is the af waamo(Gedo, middle/lower Jubba) this one takes the piss, my cousin in Kismaayo and most of the younger family members i have in lower jubba speak waamo, when they talk its like they are crying, almost polar opposite to the way Somalis in North Somalia somali land speak like(angry). reer waamo is so apologetic way of speak, they say "hee" every five seconds and always start of their sentence with hee.
