Capturing towns you can't hold is meaningless.
That's because, it is not his troops that are running the mission in Gedo now. Stay tuned, in just few days you will see the activities escalate and you will get answers to this undercover mission.

I dont think anyone in this section knows or understands the situation on the ground.

WHat is the situation on the ground since you are implying that you know it?

It is military science 101. If the Doolow forces sweep through Gedo and Jubbooyinka in a matter of days, they will overlook many spots which would give al-Shabaab the chance to exploit. By taking their time, they will have the opportunity to close any gaps and cut off any supply. al-Shabaab will then have the ability to re-organize and attack again and once they are defeated, it is game over.
So let the remnants re-organize themselves, it is they that are suffering.
I think the statement you made here is very misguided and hold no logic.
You talked about cutting the supply, but what could these supplies be? arm supply? surely not. The only supply these thugs can cut are the day to day goods the population of the region normally consumes such as food and fuel. And cutting such basic good would have little or no effect on shabab at all, but it would definetely have davastating effect on the ordinary people living in Gedo. The ordinary people are indeed feeling these cuts on supply of goods specially food supply and locals say that even though they have cash there are no food to buy because lorries carrying supply to Gedo faces high risk of the Mooryaan hijacking. In all, is cutting the food and other necessary supply to the ordinary people good idea? Well I'll leave you to the answer.
About the militery side, even a little infant can figure out that the reason the thugs are not moving deep inside the region to Bardhere and other places is because they can't fight without tanks. And even a little infant can also figure out, that a tank cannot travel for long distance (too costly, and too slow) hence can't leave further than the bordering cities such as baledhawo, luuq, ceelwaaq, doolow.
