I think future Somali Statehood is most probably gonna have a heavy regional (Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda) influence and will probably be bankrolled financially by some combination of Western powers. Generally speaking I do not see any sort of inroads the Arab League Has made in Somalia, yet the African Union which is 500x weaker financially has had the most impact in Somalia whether You view that negatively or positively is up to You. Although I don't see any real influence the Arab League will ever play in Somalia in the future, it still doesn't hurt to keep the membership. Perhaps it could be a little tool to coax some funds in the future.
Murax, the arabs are not intermingling in somalia's because of their inept foreign politicy, and they dont have a desire to exploit somalia like the west and our african neighbors do.for instance,Ethiopia, aside from its political monopoly on somali politics dries out our economy of hard currencies through that cursed green leaves , and Uganda have done nothing but send trigger happy military merchants who shell our capital indiscriminately day in and day out and killed tens of thousands as a result.on the other hand, the arabs have brought in hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars into our local ecnomy through the trade of live animals and their charities.thus no comparison between the arabs and our regional neighbors.the arab play much better role and our membership in the arab league have been beneficial thus far.

Supporting a rebel group who killed 30000 Darood( not to talk about the 300000 people starved to death by USC) and destroyed Somalia is tribalism at its worst, but remember Twisted Logic it was USC who started importing the wahabism you hate so much to Somalia in 1992 Aiideed made the first " islamic court"

You are a funny guy!
Yes the truth is never nice to hear, but what I wrote is facts.

Before leaving us Aiideed gave us all a little thing called " islamism" and now we can see the result. ......

Keep cordial relations with the Arabs. Their markets are good business for our livestock exporters, we also appreciate their refusal to recognize somaliland and their occasional investment in an infrastructure project.

Samadon,

I didn't say Arabs did anything negative to Somalia and didn't help or anything, but when it comes to the future political course Somalia will take they haven't left a mark or thrown their name in the hat. I was strictly talking about impact (negative or positive) and they haven't had close to as much impact on Somalia than any of the other groups I mentioend.

Kukkuen,

In the future if Somalia is ever to achieve statehood we have to be able to agree to disagree. For example, with the USC I do believe it was a destructive, wretched movement caused damage to their constiuincy and most of all to Somalia. Twisted beleives the previous regime was ultimately the engine that destroyed Somalia and put it where it is. While I believe strongly in My version, at some point We have to just forget all that and figuire out how to move forward. We all share a nation, and have a 1 common interest which is restoring some dignity to the Somali name regardless of our positions of things that happened 20 plus years ago.

Agree   But I will not accept denying Genocide or warcrimes, to even argueing that USC wasn't responsible for somalias downfall is just beyond retarded.

The familiy of Twisted Logic is in danger every day in Mogadishu, his familiy members can everyday be killed in the ugly war USC has left as legacy. he can support USC but its not my familiy who lives in secure Bossasso who is in danger.

I don't use foodstamps, work 40 hours a week and am a tax paying America. That being said I'm also a free thinker who doesn't formulate political views by watching HS dropout syndicates (Glen Beck), News Anchors that can hardly express themselves (Fox News) and Facebook/Twitter sheep groups. Feel free to contribute to the thread When You can contribute thoughts that do not come from those aforementioned dubious sources my friend :)
