These are most likely the Somali women who used to be part of the former Somali army. This is no embrassment but actually women who are helping their country. Yes, as Muslims, we want to use proper Islamic dress but we should also look at their intentions. In addition, they need the paycheck to feed many hungry Somalis in their families, so that should also be applauded.
What we see is Somalis celebrating in Mogadishu and Garoowe and other places for the 51st anniversary of Somali National army. For those who don't undestand this event, it was April 12, 1960 that Somalia's army was founded and this day is dedicated in rememberance of that day.
Great pictures and a hope that Somalia is on the path to recovery.
