I don't see that happening anytime soon just like somalia is not gonna have peace anytime soon. When your heart's full of cuqdad, instead of fixing your burning house you just want the next-door neighbours house to burn too.

I agree with your last statement, but, whether Somalia sees peace or not, that is according to God's plans. Who thought in 2005 that the ICU was going to tame Southern Somalia in such a short time?

How would Americans react to Confederates parading their flag on Independence day? I mean the whole point of the thing is to mark independence and secessionism that hasn't been agreed to yet represents the opposite of that.

Voltage,

You are right to a degree, its hard to control emotions when things that deeply go against our principleS are encountered, but there should still be a room for tolerance. Some Somalilanders can be insanely emotional and they find the need to interject their Somaliland views on the obscurest of issues. However, people ought to control their emotions and understand that there is a time and place for everything. You can't just shove your views down on people.

Exactly. He has his own celebrations to go to as a Somalilander. He went to a Somali nationalist event knowing 99.999999% of the people there didn't agree with him and so was agitating them.

June 26th belongs to Somaliland. He was there to remind this day belongs to him. He did a good job. Took some pictures and eventually left after Somali Police intervened. They couldn't arrest him so they asked him to leave. He made his point and left.

Trying to take the history of another country had caused the issue. See if any one from Somaliland will come out for July 1st.

All in all job well done. Without eve noticing Somaliland got the most press out of that event. What every one could remember and the pictures from that event is "Did you see that Somaliland guy with the Somaliland Flag".

^ Where you even there? There were loads of people with the Somaliland flag and Somaliland t-shirt promoting the Doorashada on that day. I was there myself

June 26th belongs to the Somali people  I'm not a Somalilander but my great grandfathers fought for independence from the British, marka stop trying to monopolize on such event. It belongs to All somalis.

You may not classify yourself as one, but Lascanod is part of Somaliland. June 26th is Somaliland's history. No person from Somalia can try to usurp and lay cliam to it. Voltage & Roving need another day to show their "patriotism" :D

La iskuma jiree juun baanu nahay, and we add May as well. :D

Somaliland Independence Day June 26
Somaliland withdrawal from Union & reclaiming of its Sovereignty Day May 18
