I have never seen so many Somalia flags, when I first came to Columbus I thought maybe these people with the Somalia flag at their restaurants, halaal shops, inside their cars, events, stores, autoshops etc are such nationalists; it was all a facade carrying a flag does not make you a nationalist.
on a side note I have over 10 Somaliland shirts and one Somalia shirt.

There's nothing wrong with being a Somali American just like being a Japanese American, Chinese American, Mexican American, Etc...

Most kids in my dorm building had flags on their walls: Dominicans, Ghanaians, Saint Lucians, even an Eritrean kid. I had one that I bought at this store that sells flags & international paraphernilia in underground Atl until I moved off-campus. The store is still there, this was at least 12 years ago. I bought a key chain from them more recently & a a bumper sticker. Once in a while I check for stuff on ebay that has Somalia flags/memorabilia on them, even found a few on craigslist. Sometimes I come across antiques & historical artifacts about Somalia online too that are being sold by ex-pats for a fraction of their actual worth, planning on buying up these items & starting a small collection.
