I would agree that the Ummah today is virtually non existent (Although the mujaahids fighting across the world are a rare exception). However, Allah SWT said that All muslims are bothers, and are one Ummah. Back in the day, the Islamic lands had that spirit. There was no such thing as national bounders. You had people from all races, studying and working in the Islamic lands. So i take pride in that Islamic spirit. They might not have been perfect, but hey, they were good.union wrote:Melo, there is no such thing as an ummah. Priding ourselves on the achievements of foreigners of the same religion is as absurd as a Guatemalan feeling pride over German accomplishments because of their shared Catholic faith.
Bal nikan arag.. fikir gaalada baa noo keeneysaa laakin ma rabno!. Ilaahi and his nabi saws said the ummah is one. No boundaries at all. It is these EXACT same sentiments that picked the ummah apart. The Arabs didn't want the Ottoman turks governing them, because they weren't Arab. Divide and conquer.
We have more in common with Arab Muslims than we do with African kaafirs. This is a reality. I know you hate the Arabs, but the reality is that we are heavily arabized society. Look at our luuqad < the word for language for god's sake is ARABIC.
