What WE need to do is

Close down the borders from the sea side
Put heavy milita as guards
No arab immigration allowed
No owning of land in Somalia to arabs (if they migrate and its legal) Because they will use the groundwater we have for their khat consumtion like they did in yemen.

And last but not least

Take back socotra and station 100k puntland soldiers (this will happen when peace settles in Somalia)

Establish a military base in Socotra. If the international community reacts. Simply refer to the territory boundaries socotra falls within AND that we are training future Somali navy so that we can eradicate pirates and help the international community have safe trading routes for their growing economies.

Socotra itself is nothing more then a desert island with a beutiful beach.

The importance of Socotra is its strategic area, i could go so far as to say that Socotra is more strategic then the whole of Somalia.

If we do not secure Socotra, then we will forever be at the mercy of arabs. Yemen can build a massive military base in Socotra SO CLOSE to Somalia! Incase it is war, they will have the strategic UPPERHAND against Somalia.

Matter of fact, any enemy nation allied with the arabs can pay yemen to use socotra as a military facility if they go to war with Somalia, INCLUDING LANDLOCKED ETHIOPIA.

This is not far fetched, it happened the same thing before, when the portugese-somali wars were going on. The portugese stationed themselves in Socotra to secure the INDIAN ocean and to spy on Somali sailors.

Therefore we must have it, either by diplomacy or by force.
