I don't know about dungeons but it is true he was locked up by the Ethiopians after disagreeing with them on the movements of his troops. They don't want AL Shabaab to be completely defeated, just removed from border areas and with the risk of terrorism still want to get money from the West. Barre has the men and resources to vanquish them first from Gedo and slowly move towards Kismaayo. They didn't want him doing that and he fought them. But IGAD, the TFG, and American embassy in Nairobi all interfered. Ethiopia is probably more sad than anyone during this time of Somalia because they came from having 100% influence without the world caring to now being upstaged by Uganda in terms of primary influence and the world especially West not listening to them for information. A combination of AL Shabaab and piracy dethroned Ethiopia as the number one influence in southern Somalia.
