islam is being reduced to what christianity has become. there's only one islam and all of its followers are muslim. this division and newly invented terms aren't doing us any good. how can someone be a non-practicing muslim? or a 'modern/mainstream' muslim? and now we have 'fundamentalist/extremist' muslim? really, this is crazy. Generalka it is your choice to not follow this faith, thats why you have the will to choose. the freedomfaith sites are christian propaganda, one confused faith attacking another. the same people who belive god's son was crucified by a roman solider have the odassity to critize our more rational faith. remember morals are relative and so one mans moral behaviour may not sound suitable to you. if the nebi did things that sound absurd to you, well you have no evidence to suggest what we read in the hadith is what the prophet's conduct was like exactly. the hadith is no authentic biography of the good man's life, you have no right to accuse him of things you know nothing about.

That would be dead wrong of course. Islam is wonderful faith that brings peace, development and progress... fosters brotherhood and coexistance.

ashlee, the divsion of islam is inevitable. When any piece of teaching or works is highly studied or accesible to the general public, it must be subjected to reason, and not remain taboo to be discussed. Islam is having its day in court, and it is currently running its 15 minutes of fame in the world. It will suffer the same fate as Christainity no doubt. It will struggle violently and branch out into a million pieces. Infact considering how old this faith is, it is moving at a rate faster than christianity ever did. islam is not some isolated faith as it used to be , the arabic language made islamic teachings lost in time, but here it is now, islam is the limelight and it isn't representing itself well at all. it will be open to scrutiny from inside by its own members and from the outside world.

dhuusa, i don't know if you're trying to act 'smart', but i agree with most of what you said. I don't care that generalka isn't muslim anymore, it's his life and his business. what i can't stand is the constant insults and belittlement of my faith. if you're not muslim, so friggin' what, go climb the highest peak in your city and scream it for the whole world to hear. what does he exactly get out of insulting prophet muhammad(pbuh), does he feel better about himself? is it his insecurity speaking? i just don't get it. we all live in the west, don't we? well, lets act like it. embrace western values; respect, tolerance, acceptance. live and let live. simple, isn't it. Generalka, it is your right to seek your path to any form of worship you deem worthy to your soul. We muslims are not asking to love islam or the prophet 's actions for that matter. That is a personal choice, I pray that you find your way to Allah, no matter how much you dislike mainstreaam islamic practice.But i challenge to go and look for better than allah.good luck
