Please, send food aid; I am starving. Or better yet, please send me to Canada so I can skyrocket the crime rate there , leach off the welfare system and chew some khat all day".

this whole is "China good for africa?" rhetorical question asked at various lectues and town hall meatings is getting pretty petty and boring.of course China is good for Africa.why? cuz unlike their western counterparts.chinese are willing to think like an investore and go to dangerous places with a high risk and turn out as well.they invest in Africa first then get those contracts to extract minerals and raw materilas and top it off with building the highways to transport the raw materials to the ports from the land locked countries and inner cities.the political elites in africa love those chinese cuz they don't play God and intermingle in the country's politics or try to subdue them in exchange for projects and infrastructure,they keep it strictly business.the only bad thing about chinese investment in africa that I can think of is the fact that chinese companies come to africa in the form of mini chinese workers colonies,they rarely hire a good percentage of the workers from the native country,and my understanding is that they are working on that and are training alot of africans to fill in jobs that chinese workers and enjineers did in the past.the indho yar,my dear snetters,are giving the westerners a run for their money and breaking their monopoly on africa.the white man doesnt get to rob africa's goods then call it a "dump ground for aid money" anymore.he has to come in as a businessman and give the natives their respect,as a biz partners,cuz the competetion is stiff and china rewrote the rules.viva la china.Nii Hao

They aint doing for the benefit for kenya ..once you sell your infrastructure you will never get it back because it is worth more than its dollar value and first world countries know that how important infrastructur is..when a country owns your infrastructure they can then do pretty much whatever they want to your nation.. from plundering your resources to controlling your political process...so they are slowly taking over mama africa the chinese are building infrastructure in the country but they aint giving the africans sovreignty over that infrastructure... which basically means that china will pretty much own the country.... they took a page out of americas book...

Of couse China is a better partner, that's a no brainer really. China are very straightforward they make their intentions clear: we build you something in return for something (usually raw minerals i.e. iron)
You only have to look at somalia pre war and see what they did, they built:
-The national stadium (Mogadishu)
-The north-south highway
-Numerous bore holes (i.e. biyo shiine in hargeisa)
-Numerous factories
-Ports (I'm not too sure, Berbera was built by the soviets)
