Still finding out. Reading from people's experiences and short courses are good start.
Recommended person Muhammad al-shareed and sheikh tawfique chowdhury (I wish we had someone like him in the somali community - I would have offered to be his 2nd, 3rd and even 4th wife!)

All the harsh struggles they faced and the multiple countries they had to settle and vacate, so when you see those somalis who have lost their way, they're basically spitting on their parents face.
OMG I always say that..especially the last part
To me, if I don't become successfull and help my parents...thats equal to spitting on their faces

My daughter the apple of my eyes. Before she was born I just wanted to be rich and famous and it was about me me me, but when she arrived my whole outlook on life has changed. She motivates me to do better in life and because of her I appreciate my parents even more now.

I did hear being a parent makes you more appreciative of your own parents.

That's a great motivator right there. May not be a healthy one though.Talo alle udaa wrote:Settling an old score.

To be true to my word, what motivates me is the desire to help my peopleHalfBked wrote:That's a great motivator right there. May not be a healthy one though.Talo alle udaa wrote:Settling an old score.

Those whose enthusiasm empower other people into action are people who feel deeply about social service, and the things they have seen or experience had such a profound effect on them, that it empowered them to put into action all of their resources at their disposal. Having lived through refugee camps and difficult places, and having experienced war and misery, we have to believe in social action and be profoundly moved by society’s ills and have a deep believe about this calling to help others and give back to our communities back home.
Growing up in one of world’s poorest countries and seeing the human need their, puts a sense of obligation on all of use to help those that have not been given the same opportunities as we have.
That should be our motivation to strive forward and make something of ourselves.
Re: Guys/girls what motivates you
The things that I have in my possession motives me to keep doing what I'm doing in order to keep 'em.
