No. This was built by culema with the help of businessmen and private donors, they tore down the old smaller mosque and replaced it with this. I think its one of the biggest if not the single biggest mosque in the Horn right now, it completely dwarfs all the hotels and buildings in Bosaso, its shockingly huge.

the biggest in EA is an overstatement, the properly built hawl wadaag mosque of xamar with its gigantic columns is still bigger.this one looks like a three floor building with minerates

You're right, the Mogadishu one is bigger as of now, but Al-Rowda hasn't been completed, still about 20% needs to be finished. This is what the end result will be like, I think it'll be about 30% short of the mosque in Xamar. The one in Xamar looks small at face value but its got so many sections that are hidden from view. Below is the Al-Rowda render.

There are bigger mosques in Ethiopia bigger than that one. Even the Suufi mosque/shrine in Basra (Shabbellada Dhexe) may be bigger.

Here's Masjid Jaamaca in Baydhabo, its about 75% complete I'd say, there's pictures of the construction but its very old but here's the render of what it will look like in the end, its quite big and I'd agree that its much better looking than the one in Bosaso.

Dude ever since you guys started killing each other there's been a blackout in GK. There's really nothing to report lately, no major businesses want to invest in Gaalkacyo. I remember back in 2005 and before, there were so many big projects destined for GK, but now no one wants to touch it. I'll post the last project there but you only have yourselves to blame if all your business folk are heading north.

They are raising funds for a new hospital in Gaalkacyo, it`s planned to cost 500.000 to build http://www.raxanreeb.com/?p=57205 you can see the sketch of the hospital on the right, if you scroll down a bit.
