If they were to just leave Islam and not say much about it there would be no problem. But who are we kidding the overwhelming majority of apostates are in your face, I'm gaal, I left Islam, and your diin is backwards, and try to drive others into leaving Islam. Majority of apostates are like Ayan Hersi, they just don't have the same stage.

Melo, thank you. That kinda gave me an insight scoop of what I was trying to understand.

Hutuking, what you said partially made sense. :|

Shirib, LOL @ the Ayan Hirsi comment. I partially agree. But, does Islam allow people to criticize it or challenge it "argumentatively"? :|

You can't challenge God's words, however you can challenge those who interpret it incorrectly.

Of course, it's all about the interpretations. That's what people have been debating about for centuries within the Muslim communities and Non-Muslim communities that took interest in our Deen.

KOW,

If you are challenging notions in search of truth or to try to find the reason then yes, u are allowed to inquire about it.

If you are trying to challenge to make it false, or along those lines, then no.

All religions are based on persuasion not necessarly on conviction.
You are shown a certain way of life to follow to get a recompense in the after world in case you accept it or thrown to Hell !
You make your calculation and decide to follow or not if you fear Hell!
you are persuaded to follow certain path for your own good but not necessarly convicted by logical reasoning!

So all religious study is fake, there is nthg to study or debate about! there is only a calculation to make and fixe your position!
This is no modern finance, you cant hedge your positon!

The central question is : r u afraid of Hell? if the answer is no! your opinion watever it is has more credibility!
if u do fear Hell, you might be a gambler so how can we trust wat u present as your study or reasoning!

But for some of us who are liberated from the fear of Hell, religion means getting closer to the subhaana wa tacaalaa!
We dont care of Jannat, we are not afraid of Hell!
if He decides our place is Hell, we jump in it joyfuy celebrating His decsion and His Greatness :rose:

Liberated from fear we follow our logik in this world, and we wont kill a single bacteria let alone a human being!

B.

Voltage: Are we in position, to challenge the position of the scholars of tradition? We are not speaking about 1 or 2 scholars. We are speaking about dozens upon dozens of scholars, in each century of Islamic thought.

The unfortunate reality, is that we judge Islam by liberal standards. Religion becomes private and isn't a serious thing. Yet, western countries still routinely prosecute people for high treason (the United States its by death) against the STATE. The State has replaced religion as the most sacred thing to be protected.Liberal mindset has relegated religion to unimportant status. I wont lie, this has impacted upon by mind also.
