Somalis care more about their culture than about God. This wont work. But, you can dream. But if Somalia comes back alive, the country will treat minorities even WORSE. Somalis are not religious people at all.

I only sympathize for those poor Somali people who do not discriminate against minority clans and see them as dirt. I want them saved. Why should I care if someone who hates me for who i am is dying?

But qabiil is established and in the "constitution" of Somalia and deeply rooted in their society; it's as common and accepted as drinking water. You can't promote it any further.

Qabiil should be added to the national curriculum. In Kenya you are taught about every tribe, its history and its origin and that just becomes another part of what it means to be Kenyan without giving tribalism any power.

I think the word is ironic and you are right it annoys me. I believe if we had ab tiris through our mothers' Somalia wouldn't be in this state now. That said, we have what we have and it is high time people stop using as qabiil as a scape goat.
