Meru,there are countless world class somali runners around the world,but u wouldnt hear of them cuz the majority of them run for their new adopted countried,for instance almost the entire qatar middle distance runners is made up of somalis.

i agree with you, i have Googled about those runners in gulf countries and i think most are from somalia

Abdi bille Abdi
Mo farah
Abdirahman
and more running for UK, US and Arab countries.

East Africans are good at running.

Somalia is going to take part in the London Olympics, they have several athletes who will be participating in the long distance running competitions. There's a video on channel4, someone please post it as I can't do it at the moment.
