Only those in the East like Borana and Arsi are originally Oromo. All others are fake Oromo (mostly Agew-Amhara or Nilotic-Omotic tribes who became Oromo). Somalis are not related to the fake Oromos (they form a large portion of the modern-day Oromo).
Arsi Oromos have a large percentage of ex sidama and hadiya people, so they wouldn't be called Original. Ask a Booran and they'd laugh at you calling them Arsi's original.
Within every Oromo clan in all regions they have sects of Original Oromos. But most tend to also have groups of previous ethnicites.

Those must be the Wellega Oromo I was speaking of. They are not really Oromo at all, but former Agew (cousins of the Amhara) who became Oromo recently.

Oromo tribes like the Borana (purest Oromo) look very much like Somalis.

Mckus, on serious note,
there is nthg like pure clan, tribe or nation!

U can find oromos in some of the oldest somali clans like the Ajuran, and you can find Sidama in the oromo clans.
every clan and every tribe and every nation is an association!

and for the record although it seems weird to your stubborn nomadic mind, all Men are equal as human being
I know it sounds funny to u but that is reality 8-)

Identities change, but the human material and sometimes the culture stay!
Sidama used to be one of the major tribes in the region today they are small;
but they didnt disappear they just become oromo and somali!
the famous Guji dances and the famous ogaadeen dhaanto are in fact forms of the Sidama "sirbaa" :!:
In fact linguistically sidama and dassanech are closer to somalis than oromos
dont go and claim their land though

@bareento and mckuss,my own ethnic meru people border and live alongside borana and somali people. meru are the most north-east of all bantu and form the natural border with your peoples so we know somalis and borana for centuries. so i can tell somalis and boranas very easily. i know of many amharas living in hurlingham nairobi and i can assure you they look like borana.

The Somalis had retaken all the land lost to Borana ,,,,
http://orvillejenkins.com/profiles/rendille.html

Digil tribes

Rendille
Gabra
Sakuye
Garre

The Warday (Orma) are part of Cushatic people, Warday have their own language

" Andrew Fedders and Cynthia Salvadori have on the origin of the Gabbra written thus:
Gabbra origins remain uncertain. Earlier in this section on Cushitic peoples, in discussing the fate
of the Somali-speaking Garre who were defeated and disbanded by the Orma in the sixteenth
century in the region between the Juba and the Tana Rivers, it was suggested that one of the three
groups emerging from the routed Garre may have eventually given rise to the Gabbra (as well as
to the Rendille and the Sakuye). In other words, it is possible that the Gabbra were Somali
speakers who evolved into Galla-speakers. ""

Dudaye,
Honestly those people, except for Boranas and ormas who r clearly oromo, are neither oromo nor somalis!
these are small tribes caught between somalis and oromos, they change identity for survival!

Meru, tell me more about the Meru and their modernising effect on others.
Its a blessing to have an original bantu on this forum.

That's a common misconception,it actauly means Dacar (Aloe Vera) in Oromo

Another Oromo city name is Arabsio-the watering place (Waraabsio)

Brother Meru, I am afraid you misundertood my words!

I used to advance a bold and maverick theory: i claimed somalis and oromos are in fact bantus!
I did some research but as I have no knowledge of other bantus i stopped my research!

U coming on this Forum is a blessing for my theory!
u can help me tune fining my theory!

B.

PS Meru, watch out its only few weeks u are on this forum, u already started talking like somalis! (your ancestors defeating this and that ...)

How can you be proud of taking other peoples' land. You are no different from the White Boers in South Africa. Just colonizers of foreign land.

Kenya does not belong to the Bantu, the Cushites were there first.
