Siciid85, Son of Gunter,

You are stupid Iidoor and I am not surprised that you take pleasure and delight and tickled pink when you see some English boy call you pretty and handsome. Every man has a right to call his wife pretty and good-looking so I am not surprised the English are remarking on the pulchritude of Isaaq men.

Ingiriiska Iidoorku waa ooriduu qabaye
wuxuu kula abraaraa guskii aabudhka lahaaye

We Dhulbahante also had many many educated men and adventurers who knew the ways of the White man. The differrence is that we dont accord them any special place in our pantheon. That Honour is reserved for the Heroes of the Daraawiish and other Dhulbahante Warriors that have become legend in Somali history. Deria Magan of the Khaalid was one of the Fluent Somalis in the English and Arabic languages and was the official interpreter at all the Treaties signed between the Isaaaq and the English.

The Political Residents of Aden had been greatly
troubled by the interference of interpreters not on the
Aden Residency permanent establishment, and I cannot
speak too highly of the loyal, devoted and intelligent ser-
vices of my two senior interpreters (Deria Magan, a
Dulbanta
; and Hassan Ahmed, a Baghoba, Habr Awal).
I add to them the names of the men who served me in the same
capacity at Berbera and Zeila (Shermarki Adan Esaj, and Rey

As for Dhulbahante maato coming to Berbera that is a normal part of warfare for the weak to go away from the most active areas of the fighting. It was the Dhulbahante who chose to make War on England. They could have rolled over like your grandfathers and be happy taking compliments as Pretty and Handsome like Ducaale Idiris but they chose to STick burning hot bullets int he forehead of the English rather than live as poodles like the Isaaq.

We Attacked Biyo Gora and took all the livestock of the Ciise Muuse Maxamed Ciise and used Suldaan Nuur of your Qamadi Tribe as our Guide Dog and it took the English officer to seek the return of the looted Camels. He couldnt touch the Dhulbahante so went after the Qamadi Boy and kidnapped the wife of Sultan Nuur.

I did not at first fully
understand what this man said, but I gathered he had been
sent to tell me that a large Kaum (tribal force) of Habr
Gerhajis and Dulbanta horsemen had seized the camels and
other animals grazing under the charge of the Aysa Musa
clan at Bio Ghora (Little Dubar), and along the base of the
Golis range of mountains up to the waterworks at Dubar.

I could only collect ten policemen, all Hindoos from
Western India, the Mohammedan constables, by reason of
their gluttony, being absolutely hors de combat. Morrison and
I then took the Aysa Musa scout on to the roof of the
Residency, from which point of vantage he showed us where
the camels were being herded together. With the aid
of a telescope fixed on a swivel tripod we easily made out
the raiders, but the scout could not even approximately
tell us the number of horsemen we might have to contend
with if we attacked them. He would not agree that they
were mere Murrasseh bandits, but asserted that they were
tribesmen led by two important chiefs. One chief was a
Dulbanta with a large mounted force, and the other an
infantry soldier magnate named Sultan Nur, who commanded
in person possibly a few hundred horsemen of his own
tribe and fifteen hundred footmen. The scout was certain
that Sultan Nur was in command, since the sultan's
horse, a whitish-grey, was well known to the Aysa Musa
scout.

And During the Darwiish War IsmaaciilMire and his band of 40 horsemen descended on Berbera itself and terrorized the Iidoor poodles hiding behind the British. On the Way to Berbera Ismaaciil Mire and his soldiers encountered some Soldiers guarding a mountain pass and some of his men became wary and wanted to turn back. He stiffened their spine with the this poem and they proceeded and caused havoc in berbera.

Nin wahsaday Wacaysow ma helo war iyo liibaane
Nimankaa wadada jiifsadee laga wayiigaayo
Ee siday wax dilayaan qalbigu inaka waansheeyey
Walaahaan ku dhaartaye naagahaa igala waawayne
Waddadaan ku diifaynayaa walahsayow Boode
Walaabiga dhashiisaa fardaha loo wanaagsadaye
Waagoo guduudtaa Berbera lagu wadhaayaaye
Rabbi wuxu ka qaybshaba wallee wegeredkuu jiiday

Translation

O' Wacays, an indolent man receives neither blessing and nor increase
The men who are on the road who have filled us with dread
And who have unsettled our spirit as if they were conquering lions
I will swear by Allah that women are more formidable than they
I shall set Bood(his horse) on the warpath, towards Glory
It was bred to kill the Children of Filth
At daybreak will their corpses litter Berbera
Whatever portion Allah has decreed for us
I shall tighten the girth-strap on my Stallion

There is no chance of the English Calling ismaaciil Mire pretty and lovely and handsome as they did the Gay boy Idiris Ducaale, the Hero of the Habar Yoonis Muuse Carre. The same people who consider Ingiriis Carre to be the greatest compliment one can give them.

The English Dont call us Pretty and Handsome. They paid tribute our Bravery and Warrior Spirit. Such as that demonstrated by the Ali naaleeye who put the fear of God into Speke.

The other people I met here were some Dulbahantas arming for the fight. They said they were 4000 strong in cavalry, and were slaughtering sheep wholesale for provision on the road. Each man carried a junk of flesh, a skin of water, and a little hay, and was then ready for a long campaign, for they were not soft like the English (their general boast), who must have their daily food; they were hardy enough to work without eating ten days in succession, if the emergency required it.

They (the Dhulbahante) did not fear guns. The English could not reach them; besides, their fathers had driven Christians from these lands; and if an army was to attack them, they would assemble so many cavalry, and ride in such rapidity around them, that their gunners could not take aim in consequence of the clouds of dust which this feat would occasion!

And this is what the English wrote of the Darwiish attack on Berbera.

On the night of the I2th-i3th March, 1914, the boldest venture ever attempted by the Dervishes was undertaken. Forty men, mounted on the fleetest and fittest ponies, starting from Shimber Berris and travelling down the Meriya Pass and through Las Dureh, arrived at the gates of Berbera, under the cover of darkness in the early hours of the morning. After firing into the native town, they immediately withdrew and returned whence they had come, destroying all villages and slaughtering their inhabitants en route. No material damage had been done in Berbera, and our only casualties were two Somali townsmen wounded ; but the sense of security in the native town* had been profoundly shaken. It was generally believed in the coffee shops that this daring descent was but a prelude to a siege of Berbera by the whole Dervish army.

CiilMiile aka Ciilqaabe first of all most of the attacks on the British in Berbera was orchestrated by Sultan Nuur. And last i checked he was a Habar Yoonis man not Qurijile caqli xuun thus does not count as your credit. Just because naagtiisa happened to be one doesn't mean you can claim his credit.

ABOUT a month after Sultan Nur's raid on Berbera.

"Now Sultan Nur was a very capable commander, and he had carefully selected the date and hour for lifting the grazing animals. He had calculated so as to place me at the disadvantage of being unable to collect for defence purposes the members of the small force at my disposal: consequently I should neither be able to resist his raid from a secure position, nor to protect the town livestock on the open plain."

Secondly.

So is there any kind of historic picture of this Khaliid langaab your talking about ? I am guessing his not as famous as you are trying to make out. :?

Lets remember for a second the same British you are trying to potray that couldn't touch you are the same ones who masscared you in the thousands, who also your sub clans sided with Sanweyne. And this the same people you later came to beg for food the same people who killed your kinsmen in the thousands. What kind of logic is that? Qurijile logic?

Your so called sub clans being scared & attacked by the same "Dervish" they claim to adore.

So much for not being touched. Dhulbahante was being whipped into submission by the "Victors". Over 30,000 camels, 1,000 cattles, 30,000 sheep being captured from them

Image

There is no way you can convince me your pathetic footsoldier politically confused clan that is used still by this present day as a condom by multiple adminstrations is something in the wider frame.

Ararsame and Cali Geri and Jaamac Siyaad some of the most powerful and historically prestigious tribes of the Dhulbahante and some of the greatest Darwiish warriors and heroes came from especially the latter tribes. People like Cagararan the man the British described as "always looking for a fight". He was the reer Khayr Jaamac Siyaad. Xirsi Cartan Boos the son of the legendary warrior whose lineage the Cali Maxamuud were decimated (almost in the literal sense of that word). Seeraar Shawe was the best tracker of the Darraawiish also of the jaamac siyaad and he was the man tasked with showing the Daraawiish the way to berbera in their attack. The Cali Geri we have not to say too much since they were the backbone of the movement.

There is no doubt since these are very powerful tribes that immense fractions of their members were opposed to the Daraawiish and that they caused the darwiish warriors great distress and difficulties:

Witness the Sayid's oratory agaisnt these tribes:

Ararsame wuxuu degay dooxiyo madheedhkiii
Maalkay inaga deebsheen dareemada ka fara badan
Doogna waa cunaayeen danaagna wawgu leeyahay
Waana durbaansanayeen waana dabaaldegaayeen
Duujo iyo ay iyo duirruqaan waa shubaayeen
Anaa Dooolo weeraray anaaa deeradii hela
Dibtaa geesiyaan ahay daaxuuradaan gani
Daraawiish anaa helay dumarka hawgu heesaan
Waxney igu danqaabeen Rabbi haw darraadee
Annagaa sidii dogob duur idinku hurrinoo
Annagaa nooga durugteen degelkiyo rugvtiinnii
Waxney igu dardaareen Rabbi haw darraadee
Ama dalawi naga hela ama dabata qaayiba
Ama digada naga gura ama dirir u joogsada

the last two lines show the courage of the heroism of the dhulbahante

He is saying that the Ararmsame are boasting to the darwiish:

Either take back the camels or become indigent hunters
Either be our servants or stand fast and fight

Proud Warriors and not like Iidoor ladyboys who used to hide behind the English

Another time the Sayid complained

Ararasame Bullada haygu tumo baanisaha geede
intuu burunjidaydii la tago hayska baar lulo e
Bululixiska iyo faanku waa buli inshaaleeye

Ararsame can play their warrior dances in celebration
They may have taken my treasures and Waving celebratory banners
But the boasts and Taunsts will give way soon god willing

The Reer Warsame of the Jaamac Siyaad were also a great thorn in the side of the Daraawiish led by the great warrior Kaarshe Guuleed Niiqle who sang this poem after he slaughtered many darwiish warriors:

Daraawiishta qooqani markay nagu qamaamaysay
ma u qarinay maadhin qacliyo qabar aan loo sheegin
Ma u qubatay sidii roob guyoo yara qayoonaaya

The Sayid was heartbroken and replied

Haddaad tiri daraawiish anaa qabar ku sii daayay
Asaad tiri anow qubay sidii qadowga dooggiisa
Asaad tiri qamaankii anaa qoorta wada gooyey
Haddaad tidhi anaa wada qudh jaray qaafadii le'eatay
Asaad tiri anaa qaashka weyn Waran qaaxadaw geliyay
Asaad tiri qaxaabyohow anaa qalay raggii diinta
Qalbi laawayahow taladu waa kaa qarsoon tahaye
Haddaad qaaya leedahay waxaa kuma qisooteene
Qamac lagu shidyow qayl xun oo qaaq yidhaad tahaye

Qadafkaad na tidhi waa midaan lagu qaboobeyne
Wax qawaaacidkaa kugu furay qiima xumadaaye
Ha ka qoomamayn abid waxaad qiratay waa hooge

Last line ... Do not regret because the Evil that you freely admit always brings ruin.

Dhulbahante man never hides or shrinks. He is freely admitting and boasting of his murderous prowess without any fear of DArwiish retribution, trusting his martial ability.

Unlike Iidoor ladyboys who sing

Diiriye Magan is clearly mentioned in that extract and is well known in Northern Somalia. But If I got hold of a picture of him you can be sure I wouldnt be going all weak at the knees simply because a dhulbahante guy was an interpreter. Only a dumb Iidoor like you would consider that a great honour.

The first picture refers to I am sure the aftermath of the massacre at McNeills Zariba when the English were slaughtered. They went after unarmed civilians and looted them. This is a dishonourable behaviour by the English and in way diminishes the Dhulbahante. It is a normal thing for Gaalo to murder civilians.

The second picture you are boasting about the exploits of Carab Dheere, an English soldier, who used to harrass the dhulbahante after the defeat of the darwiishes and the complete control of Somaliland by the British. I rest my case. If the best proof of the greatness and power of the Isaaq is to find some toadying, grovelling Habar Jeclo picknose who soldiered for the British then you are scraping the bottom of the barrel. Carab Dheere was said to have been incensed when a man of the Dhulbahante proposed to Carab Dheere's sister. The arrogance and pride that Carab Dheere is exhibiting are planted in him by the English. Without the English he was Reer Buureed Habar Jeclo living in Fear of the Rampaging dhulbahante cavalry.

They used to sing:

Allaa noo gargaaroo
Ingiriis gamgamanoo
Gumuc iyo rasaasiyo
Girligaan ka buuxiyo
noo keenay gaashaan
Gacalna waan wadaagnaa
Buuraahaan garkoodiyo
Guudkooda saarrrayn
Giddii soo bannayneee
Kani waa gobeeyee
Gumayste ha ku sheegina

It was Cali Naaleeye man who first came up with that line when he refused to allow a Xaamud Tuurwaa man to marry his sister claiming that the man was a disgusting lowly Gadhweyn dog unworthy of a shining princess of the mighty Cali naaleeye. Of course the Cali Naaleeye man was not relying on the might of the British Empire to back up his swagger and pride. He had balls the size of an Elephant bequeathed to him by God who sent to Northern Somalia to be Lord and Master. No wonder you carry boards with the legend "Queen is our Mother' to welcome the English. She freed you from yuour bondage to the Dhulbahante

Imminkaa sidii ilkaha loo sinmoo la is ilaaqaaye

Cilmiile aka Ciil-Qaabe. Gadhweyn are the sames ones oo kugu gumeeyey Erigavo until to this day which is why you are a refuuge in Garowe and fly this flag whenever you come to Erigavo. :sland: .The same ones that kicked your Naaya Axmed sissy clan from Sanaag in the 90's.The same ones your so called leader Ina Abdille Hassan begged and proposed alliance with, the same ones he begged to take Ararsame(Dhulbahante) & Harti girls. But of course Gadhweyn having one of the most beautiful women were not interested thus declined any further links with the poisonous Dervish movement and cutted the Mad Mullah's & his goons off in the early 20th century.

Your Mad Mullah praising the Gadhweyns.

Duca awliyaad buu qabaa degaha Tuurwaaye-(Gadhweyn)
Waa niman gaalada deldala doog iyo abaare
Waa nimanka doofaarradii daariguu jaraye(Warsangeli & Mj)

Roobkiina waa kaa u da'ay duraha jiilaale
Waa kaa dalkoodii ballidu wada duraabtaaye
Waataa arladii daahirtee diib kasoo kariye

Cawskii dumaayoobay baa doog kasoo baxaye
Dalagyadiyo dooxooyinkii diisha iyo qaare
Dunqaarihiyo xamshkaa sidii diriq la moodaaye

Maalkii diraacdii dhalaa doobke loo culane
Duunyada wxa laga maalayaa darartii caanoode
Rabbogii dawaa'iga sidaa deeqii noo ridaye

Your Mad Mullah begging and proposing an alliance with the Gadhweyn.

"Thanks be to God, prayers and salutations to the Prophet.... The object of this letter is twofold. One is to give you salaam; may God's mercy, blessing and salaams be upon you; and the other is to inform you that you are oppressed from all sides.... I also inform you that it is no offence in you to fight the infidels and hypocrites, for fighting them is the duty of every Moslem. You are Moslems, and they are infidels.... I also inform you that I am a pilgrim and a holy fighter, and have no wish to gain power and greatness in this world.... And now, O my brothers, this is a time of patience, this is a time of oppression, this is a time in which corruption and adultery spread, this is a time in which the infidels defeat the Moslems.... This is the end of all things. May God guide us. May God prosper our ends, for the sake of the Prophet and his companions.... I also beg that 1 may be with you, and that you may be with me, and the first thing should be a visit between us.”
And so, towards the end of his letter, he gets to business, and proposes an alliance between dervishes and Gadweins to fight those infidels, to whom he had just been writing a request for peace.

The man you adore on the akhdams of yemen.

Doqonniina keliyey u lumi, nimanka Daaroode
Waa niman ibleys duufsadee, dow ka dhaadhiciye
Waa niman Ilaahay ka dedey, labada Daaroode

Waa niman dariiqada Alliyo, diinta caasiyaye
Waa niman shareecada dulmiyey, iyo Daraawiishe
Waa niman digniin aan ka qabin, dabaqi naareede
Waa niman dagaalkii kufriga, iigu duurxuliye
Waa niman aan lala doonahayn, dux iyo liibaane
