No, Luuq Ganaane was the seat of Marehan Empire and the Marehan Union Party (MUP). Its currently a Reer Ahmed & Reer Hassan majority city alongside Reer Diini, Ina Nuur and Reer Guled Farax.

Yeah its hard for a non-Marehan diaspora to visit Gedo at the moment. But I visted Gedo twice since the war happened. Once in 2005 which there was war between Reer Hassan and Reer Diini. I also went last year in the summer but there was no war Alhamdulilah.AsadSL wrote:Maybe when peace comes.
Actually Gedo aint that dangerous. However yes, we experience the same thing as Xamar but not frequently. At the moment majority of Gedo is under the government apart from Ceel Cadde, Baardheere and Buurdhuubo districts which are under Al Shabaab.
