Re: first somali woman engineer in canada
she isn't the first, what are they talking about.
but I'm proud of the up coming Somali generation, as they are investing their time and money in education for last 20yrs, and one day our country will reap that benefits. within the next 20 yrs, Somalia will have highly skilled society, thousands of engineers, doctors, computer scientist, and researchers.

I'd say about 15% of them will take their skills back to Somalia.IRONm@N wrote:she isn't the first, what are they talking about.

The other 85% are staying right where they are...

This is political correctness?Richfarax wrote:Pardon my language but for f#k sake
I lost a f##king job for political correctness and because some somali woman was more of a minority than me. Somali women across the world are getting jobs for this!!! This makes me sick“While this can be a very challenging position, I had the advantage of being a young, female, engineer of colour, presenting cutting edge proposals for mega development projects” says NasraNasra stood out as a hard working, brilliant and a rare female engineer in the Gulf region.
In 2005, Nasra attained the unimaginable as she graduated at the top of her civil engineering class at Ryerson University posting a 4.22 Grade Point Average (GPA) from a possible maximum of 4.33 to earn a Honours Bachelor of Engineering (B Eng ) degree

Dude, not to sound like a hater but really, the best GPA at the Rye U Engineering program was a 4.22 out of 4.33? WTF I should have gone to school in Tdot. Aren't 85%'s considered A-'s too?
