well yeah, It allows you to see if you really want to be with that person, how much you really miss them, and how happy you are without them.

Apparently sleeping in seperate rooms helps strengthen a relationship too.

Argument is when sharing a bed you can't really enjoy truly relaxing sleep because of bumping, sharing duvet, maybe snoring, kicking etc etc therefore you get grumpy and snap at each other in the mornings. I met a divorced guy and first thing he told me about his wife is she grinded her teeth and it drove him nuts so they may have a point.

As for the thread, out of sight out of mind and sometimes you need that. Spending too much time with anyone annoys me, even the people I love the most i.e. my family. Can't imagine not taking time off without snapping someone's neck. I am sure my husband will see the wisdom behind it

Well, that all depends on the individuals and the circumstances. If they truly are "in love", the heart will grow fonder, if not, the heart will wander or as they say " out of sight, out of mind".

really? i've always thought...whatever is out of sight...is also out of mind, well eventually will be out of mind.

i understand for those unhappy in their relationships to try separation, but why would happily married folks go about in this route just to "strengthen" what they have..i mean talk about rocking the boat..
