Firstly, as Alchemist (same Alchemist?) put it, you have a responsibility to this girl, and leaving her in the time she needs help the most, is unkind, to say the least. Now, how do you address her problems? I wish I knew exactly. Perhaps clearing her mind, that it isn't you she needs. Maybe there's something she's missing in her life, and you happened to fill that void for a short period. Maybe she's faced some abandonment in the past. Maybe she genuinely cared for you, and now doesn't know what to do with the emotions she puts out. I think such a drastic emotional change is unhealthy. This is why dating is wrong (assumingly speaking). What you can is try to make it clear to her how little you really mean. This will take some time. Being an actual friend is important right now, but don't let her get attached in the same way as before. Don't touch her. I think that'll only do more harm. Speaking calmly but sternly is what I suggest. Towards the end of the process, give her strength by compliments.
