At the rate things are going mark my words in 20-30 years Somailis 1st language will be Arabic not Somali. Since the war Somali Arabic litericy is sky high and anybody who has went to Elementery/MIddle/High School/College speaks Arabic well because its mandatory. I think that is going to continue. Before the war it was English/Italian that was emphasized.

thats only becoz they recite quran which is in arabic.. nothing else.

My arabic teacher is always praising me and two other Somali girls in my Af arabic class on how we ''pefectly pronounce'' arabic words..

In real life I've never heard a Isaaq labeling themselves arab..
Nor have I heard any of the Snet Isaaq blokes calling themselves it.. But if they do, I suppose that's them, but they dont represent the wider Isaaq clan iyo their beliefs..

Black Most isxaaqis just consider them selves descedants of early Adnaani Arabs That does not mean they Consider themselves Arabs we have nothing incommen with Lebanese who Are Mustacrabs who are Majority descendants of French. Being Arab is not its self An Ethnic Group there are lots of Ethnicities with in the People who claim Arabs, As Murax said the prophet said csw who ever speaks Arabic is one of the Arabs.

Murax i agree the next coming decades Somalis will more and more speak arabic even lots of new Arabic words are injected in the Somali language how many Somalis say beryahan yacni yacni or xamaam we used to say baadka.

I am neither an arab nor an african,..I am not an arab because of looks and lineage and I am not an african because i dont look like one, I don't have the tradition, history or culture or any other sort of way of life of an african and HATE BEING ASSOCIATED WITH ANYTHING AFRICAN... I am far more closer linked with india then uganda

in africa you have sub sahara africa, north africa and the somali peninsula I am from the latter part of the continent.. my religion is islam my nationality is somali and my tribe is darood/harti.. anything else is unnecessary extra weight
