Al Shabab has accomplished two things which I believe will help the cause of secularism in Somalia. Firstly they have totally shattered the romanticism Somalis had for religious rule. People had hoped for a vice free society with the bright light of God shinning down upon it if they accepted religious rule, that fantasy didn’t turn out too well. Murder, mutilation, injustice, intolerance, arbitrary application of the law, etc etc have all been the hallmarks of Al Shabab’s reign of terror.

Totally agreed. What bothered me from day one was not the political but social implications of Wahhabism. The trend disgusted me from day 1, and I never thought it would pass. Its a bit shameful that the diaspora supports Wahhabism than Somalis at home, but I knew it would be the impatient nomads in the bush that would be pushing rifles into the throats of self-titled jihadists and "salafi" preachers (those obese, bearded fuckers with a false aura of innocence). This is good, and deep down inside it pisses off those diaspora nuts who parade in modern cities in tent-outfits like there's an eminent sandstorm or something, the same ones who enter long application lines at the mosque to marry the first eligible white convert.

Sometimes you have to let a small child burn himself to teach him that fire shouldn't be played with.

that is the only response they deserve. What they don't know is majority of Somalis who adhere to what is considered wahabism are against shabab. Sufism is done in Somalia, secularism is over.. Even the biggest criminal knows if he wants to rule he has to put on a qamis. Alxamdulillah the years of kufr are behind us.

You have it backward. Shariff had to shed the qamis and put on a clean cut suit before he was taken serious.

Sharia law are the laws of Allah ,, Alshabaab does implement sharia law in the Correct way there are many errors but rejecting the Laws of Allah alltogether is Kufr.Rejecting Sharia is rejecting the Quran
