How can you say there is no difference? CY attempted to commit genocide against an entire Somali clan. When he was elected president, he asked for weaponry to assault Hawiye in Muqdishu. He got his way in 2007-2008.

His entire political project was to demonize Hawiye. Shariif is much better than this primitive shaytaan..

melo i am talking about in principle..Ok lets look at it this way. If sharif was given 60 thousand Ethiopians to go into Puntland do you think he would reject the offer to be president? Of course AY didnt like Hawiye but i think it was much bigger than that. I honestly believe that wasnt his main aim. and if people didnt fight back he would rule in peace. Plus AY never changed his views like Sh sharif.

As for who killed more or who had worse Somali history than of course AY you cant even compare the two.

Anyways lets turn the topic away from such talk because soon it will turn into Darood, Hawiye, east vs west, pac vs BIG.

This is about the future of Somali government. :sland:

The key word i used was genocide. No, i do not believe Shariif would commit genocide against Puntland residents.

You give AY too much credit. He was at his core, a primitive Qabiiliste who at every given point, wanted to create Havoc in Hawiye land. He is the only Somali leader in recent history, who called on foreign forces to help advance his qabiiliste genocide. To equate AY and Shariif is shameful and embarrassing

Yes, Shariif changed his views. AY is/was.. well you know

Sharif is a neo-islamist and I heard he was putting his former associates from the ICU in very high positions in the government security apparatus. He must be ousted at the polls.

No doubt AY has a longer history and sh sharif for the most part of his life was unknown. He came to power recently through the islamic courts one of the most popular movements in recent Somali history. So yes if you look at it that way AY is a hundred times worse.

But is all about who sits on the chair. when AY was the president Ethiopians fired into the civilian areas.. Now that Sh sharif is the president the African Union fires at civilian areas. In both cases they had islamists fighting them. Sh sharif went to Ethiopia to visit Melez a week after he become president.

I was talking about principle. if you were to ask Dahir Aweys and all his former friends they would agree with me.

There is a difference between deeds and principle.
