This is coming from a guy whose family founded Garowe and own plots and estates all over Nugaal and we're not seeing one dime. The entire profit will be shared between the energy ventures and the Puntland government. What makes you think they will give a non-PLer cash money for a legit document, when so many PLers with legit documents are being ignored and screwed over when it comes to property in the south.

Like Cinque said the Oil profits are going to be shared between the Oil company and the Puntland government ,the PL govt will use that money to build PL's infrastructure ,improve education ,healthcare ,security etc. Unless you're a Puntlander you're not going to benefit from this in any way .

he was part of the early oil exploration before the 1969 revolution and bought property back in the day...which was a good idea because after the revolution, all the private enterprise pretty much stopped

your grandfathers property is your grandfathers property. if it's abandoned and people are currently living there, they will be told to leave and you/your fam will gain control of your property again, but i still don't see what that has to do with oil exploration. if what you're after is some of the oil money from nugaal, you're gonna have to fight monks people for it.

my grandfather died last year, this is what he left from his will...

part of the land was marked for oil exploration, thats why i brought it up... i guess if someone is drilling in your backyard, you're not entitled to any compensation? i also wasn't aware we should be screwed over for our own land in puntland just because of difficulties in the south over property. We have problems too with people squalling in our properties there wth difficulties of evicting them, its not a black or white issue

gemini, we have some distant relatives that head there every now and then from hiiraan, so its not abandoned and some other folks from my awoowe's 2nd wife's family are from PL and in that area specifically..

You are not allowed to own land outside the cities/settlements. That's just Puntland state property. I believe it's somewhere in their constitution.

Unless the oil companies need your land to use as an operating base, a storage base or what not, I'm afraid the property has nothing to do with the oil exploration.
