It could very well be a myth or not. Just passing on something I used to hear as a child.RovingMadness wrote:I don't think that is the case. Habar Gidir is genealogically older than Abgaal. Madarkicis Hiraab ( Habar Gidir) & Mudulood Hiraab are siblings. Abgaal is a sub-sub-sub clan of Mudulood ( Abgaal Cismaan Darandoole) so the idea of Abgaal & Habar Gidir being married to two sisters is quite far-fetched.Avicenna wrote:The story my grandmother (AUN) used to tell us went something like "abgaal married Mursal's older sister Faadumo from the Karanles. Then when it was time for oday abgaal to take his bride home, Mursal would follow them and each time, oday abgaal would tell the boy to return home, only for him to continue walking behind them. Which ultimately earned Mursal the nickname "Mahare" or "Ma sabre" and that's how Murusade came to be."
TL - I'm well aware of Murusade being a sub-clan of Karanle. Mursal was the only male heir of the Karanles, the others were daughters i.e. Faadumo (abgaal's mother) and Gidiro (habargidir's mother).

I gotta ask who falls under the mudulood umbrella?.I should know as a banadir baby but for some reason i dont
No. Wacdaan & Mobleen are actually pretty significant on their own and currently get 3 MPs each. They are very well known in the Shabelle Valley both Lower & Upper Shabelle. Koronto can attest to this as he has visited the place recently.Shift wrote:Gartay, nimanka kale wax ma ka tarmeen? sida wacbaan, mobleen iyo ilaabaay.
Kinda of. Abgaal makes the overwhelming majority of Mudulood through sheer numbers but Mudulood itself is equivalent to Habar Gidir and Abgaal is equivalent to Ceyr/Sacad. Since the only Mudulood most people meet are Abgaal, Abgaal has overtaken the Mudulood name. But in formal situations like weddings or political & cultural gatherings, Mudulood is used.Shift wrote:Waan fahmay, its similar to when the average somali hears "absame".He quickly thinks of ogadeen while over looking the other three.thnx for the info.
Yes. The Mudulood are the only Hiraab with Imaam & traditionally the Mudulood Imaam is the Imaam of all Hiraab.Shift wrote:Marka wayeelka hiraab waa mudulood?
Yea, we have Imaamka Mudulood who is the highest authority, the Ugaaska Mudulood then lower authorities like malaaq and suldaans. We have no garaad as per my knowledgeShift wrote:Traditionally somalis have Ugaas,Suldaan and garaad.Abgaalka in general do they abide by such rules?
The Mudulood Imaam has always been The authority within Hiraab. It was him that unilaterally ended the Mudulood-HG & affiliated clans war. Didn't you hear the phrase, " inkaarta Imaamka ayaa qabatay hebel"Shift wrote:Imam as the highest darajo is something i have never heard from somalis walee, waa wax dayasho mudan.
no offense but that title name sound funny,RovingMadness wrote:Yea, we have Imaamka Mudulood who is the highest authority, the Ugaaska Mudulood then lower authorities like malaaq and suldaans.
