Its really hard to tell if Gurey is being serious or not, to even compare yourselves to Taiwan politically is a joke. I don't even know where to start on your whole analysis of this situation, all of it entirely wrong. No wonder people call you guys Disneyland, you live in a fantasy far beyond the imagination of most adults.

For once I'll ask - what is Somaliland doing to push independence?

We are lobbying the AU and Others with success...
The important thing to know that there will be talks between Somaliland and the New somali government with the mediation of the backers.
The issues will be ironed out then..

and monk do you think we want to be like taiwan?

The Taiwan proposal was introduced by the US state department twice during Riyals timer and When Siilanyo went to DC.
It was then repeated by the British and other EU states, later on melez started supporting it..

The idea of a taiwan like status is stomach turning, to be assocaiated to somalia even temporarily is humiliating, but its not our idea
this is the program that will be pushed by the international community and we will accept this along with our conditions.

Horta where is your evidence for all these claims you make? Even in all the cables concerning hargaisa there is no talk of such thing.

Nobody is trying to stop Somaliland from going anywhere. I'm one of the few individuals who supports an independent Somaliland, provided it meets certain criteria. We are too different from each other, pointless to remain stuck together. I actually was happy for Somaliland when Siilaanyo got elected and Riyaale hit the road, said we can live as neighbors in peace, etc. My point in this discussion remains that Somaliland can not continue down this path of down-playing & ignoring the rest of Somalia, specially if they want recognition. The TFG is probably the best venue for making it happen, rather than ignoring it. I'm also very much oppossed to the whole hating on the South cliches. Less hate, more cooperation.

Gurey dont you think that SOmaliland could have a two track approach i.e. what you propose as well as engage with the south and factions of somalia on the downlow to get recognition of course.

Former PM Nur Cadde stance on SOmaliland:
¶29. (SBU) PM Hussein said that while Puntland would be integrated
in a unity government, "Somaliland would require a special
approach." The Prime Minister praised Somaliland's progress and the
positive steps it has taken on elections and its democratic process.
The Prime Minister concluded, "It would be our preference that
Somaliland is part of Somalia
, but let us solve the Somalia problem
first, come together with Puntland
, and then initiate a dialogue
with Somaliland." President Riyale was unequivocal when he stated
that "Somaliland made the union and tested it" The PM said that, ultimately,
the recognition question would be left to the popular will of the
Somalilanders

What criteria are you thinking, this kind of half-hearted conditional support pisses me off. Either one support somaliland or one fok off :P no offense. As for the hate thing, i think it is more on you lots side. few up here hate, just want Somaliland independence and if you against it me not hate you but me tell you fok off. no offense.

Koronto i understand what you are saying but the thing is Somalia decides what kind of relations we have with them we are willing to be your good neighbor if you are willing to be our good neighbor we are willing to accept that,, there will be talks there will be negotiations in the near future. The Thing is we do not meddle into Somalia's internal issues or when they are having a conference or anything related to that or its formation of a new constitution. since we are not part of Somalia but talks are being planned as we speak, the current Somaliland government has a whole new policy how to approach Somalia's situation and its relations with the republic of Somaliland.

Anoymousfaraax former PM nuur cade is right Somalilanders decide their own future no one else.

But that seems impossible without the support of all Somali people in horn of Africa. So my brothers and sisters from all over the world let's support Somaliland forget about clan ( Qabiil ) and let's help Somaliland recognition :sland:
1moonlight, you're either a Secessionist Iidoor, or you're one ignorant fool, who has been brainwashed.

The issue of Somaliland's recognition or separation from Somalia isn't the problem, the problem is, the fact that ONE CLAN (Isaaq) laying claim to territories that don't belong to them. In Northern Somalia, there are 3 major clans that settle there. 1) Daarood, 2) Gadabursi, 3) Isaaq. We all know that Somaliland consists of ONE CLAN, and it's the Isaaq clan. The Gadabursi and the Daarood clans of the North have nothing to do with Somaliland nor do they want to be part of it.

In specific, the Daarood clans of Northern Somalia, the Dhulbahante, Warsangeli, Gahayle are 100% Anti-Somaliland and wish to not have their territorial integrity invaded. If Isaaq wants to separate from Somalia, then they have to take what is theirs, excluding other clans' territories and peace the fuck out.

Again, distinguish between who supports this ONE-CLAN State called Somaliland and who doesn't support this. :|
