Yes it is, and if you don’t stand you get charged with contempt of court. Personally If I was the Judge I would have ordered her to be chained, muzzled and jolted with electricity when I entered the chambers to force her up.

Where is my freedom to 'not stand up?'

Union, you didn´t even read the article posted by the OP. The writer gave couple of examples whereing people refused to stand up for the judge without consequences. One of them was the Dutch Mohammed Enait as spoke about on my previous post

In 2008, Mohammed Enait refused to stand for a judge in the Netherlands because he considered all men equal. The court agreed to allow him to sit, although members of Parliament were outraged. "It can't be so that an individual with extreme ideas can tackle general manners," Sybrand van Haersma Buma.

Last year in the UK, several Muslim protesters who were accused of insulting soldiers returning from Iraq also refused to stand. They were threatened with contempt of court but the judge backed off, eventually allowing the defendants to enter after she was already in the courtroom.

The OP posted an article from Minnesota Public Radio that made no mention of foreign courts or their procedures and that isn't even relevant anyway. In the United States, when a judge, commissioner, or magistrate enters a court room you must stand until he/she gives you permission to be seated.

She is not his slave. She is here to defend her self in court not to be his Slave. The judge is not here to send people to jail for his personal reasons. Respect means if she wants to. Some of you think he has the right to force her to stand up for him to show respect.

I have never done the pledge of allegiance nor stood up for judges nor am I a criminal. This women is innocent until proven guilty and it's her right not to stand if she chooses to, it should be respected.
