It feels like I am naked. My uncles gave me hell about not wearing one.
I take one or two macawis when I am travelling. Sometimes, there are swimming pools at the expensive

BlueNwhite, that is not your culture! You should consider wearing macawis or laba go'.

Lilaahiya; the best dress for a somali woman is ALINDHI, DIRAC AND BAATI/GAREES: Imagine wearing alindi; very sexy.

Wearing abucumar defeats the purpose of wearing a macawis. You either go naked and drafty wearing a macawis or you wear normal clothing.Nabeela wrote:Accident, how can you be Somali and not wear macawiis?![]()
Just wear abucumar underneath and you'd be fine lol

I think you are talking about baati, similar to dirac, but not the same.

Nabeela, woman can be with a macawiis in bed, but they shouldn't be the ones wearing it.

LG - I don't like wearing macawis in qurbaha, only when I go to Africa I will wear it with fooshari, koofi baraawe, bakoorad and shool.

This is a good idea for a thread. Post how you think forumers dress in real life.TheblueNwhite wrote:LG - I don't like wearing macawis in qurbaha, only when I go to Africa I will wear it with fooshari, koofi baraawe, bakoor and shool.

Re: Somalis and airports
Union,
I don't wear it all the time, just occasionally, it's just too comfortable, nothing wrong with that.
Lamgoodle, WTF, kulahaa token of love
I don't think so. Like I said I wear it for me occasionally.

Re: Somalis and airports
i like meeting Somalis at airports also, specially in Asia and Africa they seem super nice when they recognize you as Somali. I get cheerful when I meet one since I dislike flying very much altogether.
and there is no particular dresscode for flying, some find dress pants way more comfortable than pair of jeans
