Pure Somali names tends to be tied to something that gives it's meaning.

Roble = It rained heavily when he was born
Abaarow =All rain stopped when he came out
Xujaale = His Mom was in the middle of deciphering a riddle
Cambaro = dad was roaming the seashore looking for Cambar
Yalaxow = Had extremely soft hair, even though it doesn't run in the family
Yariisow & Dhicispw= A premature baby
Madoobe = Subxaana, his mom was close to running away from him

Cabdifatah, Omar, Xussein, Liban.

Basra is derived from the Iraqi Town Basra and Nuurto is a Somalised version of Nura which is Arabic also. The rest are all Arabic names.

I know a family (Mareexan) whose children are named as such:

Durraan
Jaanfi
Dhenged
Dhegfar
Jaambiir

I forgot about four others with similarly ridiculous names (not nicknames)
