He looks like the MP who got killed in his home by ISQARXIS.

if thats the guy then he does not qualify for the TARTAN.

those that passed away would have their own category insha-allah.

Xildhibaan Cismaan Caato is a reformed man, and has been  for some quite time now. He has proven on numerous occasions that he isn't stuck in old age Qabiil politics, but rather is for the advancement of the Somali people  . Ilaahay ha xifidiyo, and may people like you be dealt a deadly card.

We should move beyond endorsing personalities to endorsing ideas.

Tell that to your little cheerleader Murax. Caato has stood for wadani interests over qabiil interest on numerous occasions post 2006. In fact, he stood against his own clan in the national interest. He is also well aware of the imperialist intentions of Uganda, Ethiopia and indeed the Americans. Astute politician and a smart business man. His past always haunts him, but his recent history is

He doesn't register to me. What exactly is his relevance in this topic? I don't want to be unnecessarily harsh, but what I am saying is the man was a member of the USC and felt out of power since the ICU revolution. Since then while he might have led a quiet and respectable life, I fail to notice his importance. I do think his latter presence in the media was respectable.

In any case I would advocate less endorsing of personalities and more ideas.

Try again
Abdiqasin's era: CNN went to Mogadishu and interviewed Abdiqasim, His MP Hassan Abshir, some ministers and other gov officials who all said we need American troops, pls, pls, pls send us troops. Then they interviewed this man who said "before any US or other foreign troops come to our country, we need full disclosure then it is up to us if we can accept or not. Fast forward, every time I see this man talk, he seems to be the only sane guy in Somali politics today.

His name is Osman Atto.

Don't expect Nairobi and New York to give you strong national government, peace and prosperity. it must come from within. I believe Osman Atto can participate such grass-root movement.

He could have gone down the Cabdiqeybdiid route, but he didn't. He chose national interest over clannism. He is also a very successful businessmen and so his influence isn't shot completely. He is more strategical than a lot of other buffoons running around.
