It is tragic Somalis sees every thing through clannish lenses. I mean how can any one explain Kenya's efforts in international forums to limit the Somali coast to 12 miles? The support the French and other countries are giving is all based on their oil comanies wanting to explore Somalia's continental shelf. And in the west, their establishments have come to the realizations that their economic interests would never be guaranteed by a stable Somali government in the future.
Personally, it reminds me how we lost the Ogaden region in 1945. First, an American oil company, Sinclair, has found an oil well in Shilabo. Second, since that region was under British government protectorate and the Somali independence movement was in full move, the British and American government have dicussed how to best gurantee their interest. They came to the realization that an independent Somali government on this region will not guarantee their interest. This is how Ethiopia under Haile-Salassie came to the picture, and the Ogaden Somali region was handed over to him. Today, Jubaland is going along a similar path.

Then why do you run for Ictiraf to Ethiopia?The_Emperior5 wrote:FAH1223 wrote:Like Jaidi posted, its no wonder Somalis have never been united
Some Somalis believe the neighboring Countries are helping one Clan against the other and is creating a Clan state for them
And what in the world is wrong with that? The greatest thing to happen to Jubbaland will be to be annexed by Kenya.udun wrote:Kenya wants Jubbaland for itself with the support of the western governments.

I see where you are coming from with your first reply to my original post but i just to highlight this part, I have seen you on many instances belittling and showing this inferiority complex and somehow believing the Bantu in Kenya is superior to us. I have no clue and dont want to judge on how your parent's raised you but mine always told me you are Somali born in the West but never forget who you are and that we Somali are the Shit.Voltage wrote:Oxident, it is simply unbecoming to compare the civilized Kenyan Bantu to the Ethiopian Habesh who are just as uncivilized in modernity as the Somali. Comparing support for Kenyan involvement to Ethiopian interference is a false equivalence. The distinction has to be made on pragmatic grounds.
The difference between you and I is if my parents tell me Santa Claus is real, I don't believe it when I reach a certain age.King-of-Awdal wrote:I see where you are coming from with your first reply to my original post but i just to highlight this part, I have seen you on many instances belittling and showing this inferiority complex and somehow believing the Bantu in Kenya is superior to us. Besides Bantu being my African brother of whom cooperation will be of mutual interest to both of us, you seem to be clutching at straws. Yes we fought European colonialism, and yes I now advocate to accept African brotherhood in this globalizing new world order.Username1 wrote:It's funny those who write essays on how their ancestors fought the White man to a stand still are today at the forefront cheering for Bantu colonisation.
